Para 2 Sprint - Foliage Green w/ Elmax

Well, I figure:

M390 PM2 > Elmax PM2

With the blue one already in my pocket I'll be passing on this one.

BBS has a "but wait, there's more" thing going. It's not too surprising anymore. The ridiculousness that is.
 
Just checked BBS' website. The bundle is no longer listed. Perhaps BBS is changing their approach??? I don't even see the PM2 Elmax listed for sale anymore.
 
I still see them on their site. This was going to be my first sprint run PM2, not anymore…
 
It seems BBS is getting more aggressive with its exclusive pricing as time passes; their M4 Manix retailed for $160 which was a steal IMO. At this rate they'll be bundling future K390 PM2's with timeshares in Fla.
 
If I spend $300 it wont be with BB.Elmax is mainstream and the knife is worth less than $150 in my eyes.
 
Wow! I was expecting them to overprice it (IMO) for about $200 given their history, and I was planning on passing on that, but bundling it with overpriced dead stock for another 100 is a new low. Bento Box Shop's association with Spyderco as a dealer does nothing to enhance the Spyderco brand name.
 
I would have paid $200 for the Elmax PM2 alone, but I have no intention of paying an additional $100 for another over-priced knife I'd never consider buying in the first place. BBS made a bad decision commissioning the Lil Matriarch exclusive and I don't feel obligated to bail them out of that decision.
 
Just caught up on this thread. Bummer on the bundle and price. I too gotta pass. I would have otherwise picked one up. It's been an interesting market over the past year.

I have to think that it helps Spyderco at least by getting paid for the run up front. Cash flow helps Spyderco make other models too.
I don't claim to know much about running a knife manufacturing biz, but the Sprints, especially the popular PM2 seems to be good for business.
 
:thumbdn::thumbdn::thumbdn::thumbdn: I'm sure this is all on BBS. Spyderco always seems to be put in an awkward position by this distributor. As others have already stated especially considering the PM2 production backlog many of these were probably ordered/paid for long ago. Not much Sal & company can do about it at this point. I wonder how much longer it will last. What a Joke!! I'll Pass !!!!!

Agreed. I will not come to BBS's rescue.

Spyderco should boot BBS to the curb.

BBS seems to go against the principles Spyderco stands for.

The word ransom comes to mind.

And extra $$ for shipping that exceeds the actual cost to ship the knives UPS. :mad:

In my opinion Spyderco should have a policy barring package deals like this in the future. It's not going to create loyal customers, only begrudging ones looking for the occasional exclusive offering.

They blew it on a special run that not many people are interested in, so they figure the ParaMilitary 2 is gonna bail them out and recoup their losses on the Matriarch?

I guess I'll just keep reeeeeaallly enjoying the Elmax in my 0560.
Besides, too many other things on the horizon to get hung up on shenanigans like this
 
I guess that I will pass on this one as I have all of the other sprint run/exclusive offerings they have had so far.

It is too much for my price range and I am not fond of this "package deal" idea, either.

I was really let down after the wait for the dark green/Carpenter CTS-204P Para Military 2 also. (Even though that was another dealer.)
 
The package deal is BS. Spyderco should be ashamed they let this happen.

312 bucks. I am a sad drunk man with no control. Elmax is my favorite steel and PM2s are my some favorite edc knives. I have other sprint PM2s. I had to have one.
