Para 2 Sprint - Foliage Green w/ Elmax

The PM2 alone is more than the S90V Blue AND they force you to buy their old stock at FULL PRICE!
Why not just kick me in the balls and call it a day?
 
This is seriously a GARGAGE deal. Dang it!!!!! I really want a Spyderco PM2 in Elmax, I really do. I WILL NOT pay $300.00 for a great knife and a P.O.S. that they couldn't sell. It really bothers me because I want one, but this deal STINKS.
 
Bento needs to seriously reconsider their business practices. It is shops like them that I don't like to support. The S90V Military was already pushing it for alot of people.
 
Got plenty of knives in elmax.....my microtechs seem to hold the edge the best of the brands I own. So i would be curious if spyderco could do it better......and likely so....but not gonna find out.

Not gonna pay for a bundle I don't want at high prices. So Pass.
 
Among enthusiasts this seems to be a miscalculation by BBS. I wonder how much interest there will be among other knife buyers.

My theory is that BBS prices their knives so high that scammers and casual enthusiasts aren't interested, and that is why they take much longer to sell out. This time it seems that they have gone too far and they will have a hard time selling these. If this turns out to be the case and BBS comes to their senses, they will have to lower their prices so they aren't stuck with a lot of expensive product.

Even if they took the Matriarch off, then I think the Para 2 itself would still be $200 or so.
 
At first glance, looking over their site it appears that they are their own secondary market and priced accordingly. Looks to be that the days of reasonably priced LE knives and sprint runs are almost gone. I think the 204P Para2 may have been the last of them. Almost as bad as another store in PA that sells everything for MSRP+200%.

Or you can look at it positively that they succeeded in enhancing their reputation. They literally one upped themselves in the shady department.

Let's step out and really think about this... They REALLY bundled an exclusive product with a previously failed exclusive product. Only BBS.
 
Economics theory suggests their price should be set that they don't want a shortage. All they need is to find enough willing to pay the price. Selling alone at a normal price would surely sell out and that doesn't do them any favors.

Of course that's theory. They are hurting their long term customer base. Short term win. Long term fail.

I'm sure they will sell them all, eventually, but how long will that take?
I'll laugh if their bad decision to pair it with the Matriarch results in TWO BBS exclusives collecting dust at their warehouse.
I think Bento Box Shop is smellin themselves after the success of the blue PM2 and they think the world is fiending for what they have >_>

Not to worry: if this bungle (er, bundle) lingers on the shelf too long, BBS can always bundle this one with the 3rd release of the blue PM2 ($600 TYD)!!! :rolleyes::thumbdn::barf:

That's the question. If they sell them all then how can we fault them for their business decision. If I had a box of widgets that I thought I could sell, I would want to sell them for as much as I could get for them. I probably wouldn't want to wait years for it, but a reasonable time.

I think they will sell them all eventually, but I think along the way they might have to drop the price a bit.
