Paramilitary 3 wish list, anyone?!?

I'm not certain the Glessers restrict any given knife design to just one locking mechanism. After all, the Sage series has seen a liner lock, a frame lock and a bolt-action lock.

Variety...the spice of life!

But that is also the theme of the series, paying tribute to the inventors of the different locking designs. I have the Sage 3 and it is smooth.

For the PM2, I'm with whoever said just make it available. It's hard to comment on improvements for a knife I've never held. Although, I am sure i would like a black wire pocket clip better than the solid clip.

It's obviously one of their most popular offerings ever. Just make them available in a multitude of different blade steels and handle colors. They'll sell as many as they can make. Also, how bout a left handed version!

The Sage series was planned all along to utilize tha various locking mechanisms developed by knifemakers throughout the years. It's a tribute sort of thing. Reengineering a knife with a different lock would create a possibly uncomfortable bump in price. Given the condition of the economy, it might not be somthing a lot of people would jump into head first.

I would not favor changing anything, except adding a deep clip along the lines of this aftermarket Military clip. I really like carrying a knife that totally disappears in the pocket.

Very nice pic,clip looks awesome.

Thus the 3 designation. Leave the 2 as is. I would be quite interested in one with a longer blade and perhaps a smaller hole to allow a narrower blade for less pocket bulk.

+1

I was wondering if anyone was ever going to notice that I never suggested scrapping the pm2. Heresy!

Just make it better. There is ALWAYS room for improvement...

They're not going to make a Para 2, and Para 3 at the same time.

What would you keep?

What would you change?

Deep carry pocket clip?

Different blade grinds/profiles/steels?

Alternative handle materials and/or lighter weight alternative as in lightweight Manix 2's?

Ball bearing lock or other locking mechanisms?

Bigger lanyard hole (lol)?

Changes to handle profile?

More jimping for the nutnfancy contingent?

Nothing's off the table! What would u want to see in the next generation Paramilitary?!? Sound off!

Important Changes That Should Be Made:

1. Increase the blade size to 3.75" and improve on blade-to-handle ratio;

2. Change handle materials from G10 to Carbon Fiber;

3. Change blade material to M390/S90V.

Do Not Change:

1. The amount of jimping (if anything less jimping would be nice);

2. Manufactured in Golden Colorado, USA, Earth (no Taiwan PM 3, please).

Okie dokie, then call the new model the ParaStretch 2, and send me the first prototype for evaluation (the OM-Sprint run of 1 should be made with carbon fiber scales and S90V blade steel, although I could live with ZDP-189 as well).

I really have nothing to suggest for an update to the Para. I like it just the way it is. Leave the damn choil alone. I mean, there's three pages on this thread and I don't see anyone coming up with really anything. Yeah, maybe moving the lanyard hole and clip configuration but they can probably do that and still call it a Para2 ...just a CQI. Updates would be so mild, I don't know, I think if anything the Military is more "due" for a more "substantial" update.

Go ahead and make your Para3, take some excitement out of the Para2 maybe it'll drop the secondary market prices on the previous Para2 sprints so more for me :D

Parastretch? I'm all about the Stretch, you guys keep leading me on with these wild ideas...
