Paramilitary 3 wish list, anyone?!?

Amen, reminds me of what they did with the Endura when they went Gen4 and created a Flat-Saber grind with a stronger tip. I'd love a PM or even a Millie with this profile (combo edge, of course)...
That'd be fun.

yuck! the blade profile and geometry is the heart of the Millie/para. removing that fine tip would be severely handicapping of the knife.

Now that I have a brown Sprint Run PM2 in my pocket, I would definitely like a pocket clip that allows deeper carry, wire or solid. The compression lock seems really solid. I like this knife very much, so other than a deeper carry clip, I can't think of anything I would like to see changed.

I would like to see a version with a 3" blade (for urban carry) and a standard low rider clip.

I would love the see the exact same knife the size of the military.. I guess a Military 2.. My hands love the bigger scales

I spend lots of time in China and Taiwan. Care to tell me where I can purchase one of these flawless XM-18 knockoffs?

With all the Chinese knock offs out there, Spyderco cannot sit still from an R&D perspective.

I've been watching some video reviews of the Hinderer XM-18 forgeries, and by most accounts, they are pretty flawless. Spyderco is in the crosshairs of these thieves.

The Paramilitary 2 is indeed the best knife I've ever owned, but it is FAR from perfect, IMHO. Nothing achieves perfection. But the pursuit of it is essential to a company's success.

There are no MAJOR flaws with the knife in any way whatsoever. BUT, there are many very small nuanced changes that can be made to this knife to make it even better than it already is. That's the point of this thread, and it does appear to be generating feedback/input.

Sal and Eric didn't stop with the Military. We got the Paramilitary. They didn't stop with the Paramilitary and we got the Paramilitary 2.

We haven't seen the possibilities of a PM3 yet. It would be a shame if they just stopped now.

The Para 2 is spot on IMO. The closest to a change I would make is on the Military or "Military 2" and that would only consist of changing to the larger lanyard hole and mainly just for aesthetics.

I like the idea of "exact same knife,in the military size." (But yes, that'd be a Military 2...)

For the PM itself, the only think I could see tweaking is the blade shape. I love it as is, but wonder if a little longer blade could fit in that handle, hmmm...

i would prefer a 3" version to be honest.
bigger you already have the Millie.
Make it a Millie 2 instead.
I would love for a smaller Para.
The design of the first one was a bit off in my opinion but they nailed it with Para2.
I wish they made the exact model of the Para2 but shrinked down a bit.
Oh...preferably without bladeplay :D

They should have a "Customize Your Own" service for the Para 2 or a future Para Military, kind of like the one Benchmade has for the Mini Griptilian. Choose blade style, handle colors, clip style, engravings, etc. I'd be all over that!

Oooooooooh! I really, really, really LIKE this idea! I'd pay a premium for a custom PM2 direct from Spyderco!

Oh yes, I would too -- great idea. I see digi-cam scales on one side, solid black or olive on the other; with a black blade (etched with an Oregon Duck "O," please). :D

Longer blade, kill the lanyard loop, deep carry clip, production runs of m4 and/or m390, larger compression lock lever, and blackened Ti liners and spacers. Pretty much stuff that's been mentioned before.

You end up with a knife that's got more blade, less bulk and less weight that holds a better edge. S30v is more than most anyone needs, but as long as we're making improvements....

I almost wonder if there's a custom maker who can do all of that, and at what price, I just described the perfect knife for me.

I think they could do a lot more with the pocket clip. If you were prepared to accept tip up carry you could make a much stronger clip which used both sides of the grip to anchor it and add a glass breaker pommel for car windows or to use as a kubaton . That would be particularly handy in the military and if designed with a deep ride aspect using a modification of the wire clip would not unduly increase the weight.

Maybe make clips like this as optional accessories?

On some models like a UKPK which is legal to carry as an EDC in most countries a glass breaker clip using both sides of the hilt to anchor it would appeal to a lot of rail commuters. Lots of accidents/fires in the underground/subway have had survivors say they wished they could have broken through the windows to get out.

You could even design these as none clip accessories for those who prefer tip down carry.

● 3 and 4 inch blade
● bigger compression lock pinch area (wearing gloves)
● deep carry pocket clip
● stonewash blade or blackwash blade
● titanium handles
● PM2 XL?
● able go head to head with mt. lion
