Just watched great work!
Thank youThat was fun to watch!
I always wondered about that - do they provide materials for the final? The discrepancy between guys with full sets of power tools and guys with just a single burner forge and an anvil is pretty big already, I kinda thought it'd be pretty rough on a guy who didn't have as much material on hand, too.Thank you. Yeah the heavy comment is no fun to hear for sure. That always ends the same way on the show unless one of them breaks.
I think the time varies. We were lucky because I heard normally its right away when you get back home. We had Thanksgiving in between so we had a few days to think about it and get some stuff. They do give you enough steel to make it. I think its always 5160. So if you see swords out of that on the show its probably why.
They give you a piece of 5160 to take home with you thats enough material for the project so everyone starts with at least that. I still have mine. I started forging a more traditional sized cinqueda out of it in between orders for fun.I always wondered about that - do they provide materials for the final? Well, it finally aired in Canada on May 25th. Great show. Paul, your two knives were the best. It was hard to watch you when Doug said the blade was heavy in the kill test. Having read the whole thread it seemed obvious when watching that you knew you were in trouble. I'm sure they will have you back again so I look forward to seeing you in the future. For some reason here in Canada they had the description of the episode correct but the episode they ran was a different one on May 4th. Thank you. Yeah hearing the blade is heavy was definitely a bad sign. It was a great time and good learning experience though.Well, it finally aired in Canada on May 25th. Great show.
