Just to counter balance the tech talk for the mods: knives, knives knives, knife knife knife, blade, locking mechanism, heat treat, edge, blade length, super steel, knives knives knives.

Alright, we should be good now!

They were paying forward knowledge to me on the subject of computers, in order for me to keep buying knives and surfing BF while not at my desktop.

See it all relates :D

NEW ITEM: I have some new unused size 9 summer flight gloves in OD green with a gray palm. These are a rather small medium, so if you claim them and they don't fit, be sure to pass them along to someone that can use them. My only rule is that you reside in the US. Please post here that you want them and then send me an email with you address.

It's at the point where a reminder needs to be given as to the purpose of this thread and what forum it is in. This is the General KNIFE discussion forum. The off-topic chatter needs to be kept to a minimum. If you want to discuss computer repair/issues, we have a Gadgets and Gear forum that is better suited for that discussion.

MarsupialS, thank you for your patience and sorry for the delay, your DMT mini hone is in the mail. Cereal_killer, your Gameshears (the godforsaken things) are in the mail as well. Yoh both should be recieving them by the end of the week.

I like "karmically" and will plagiarize it shamelessly without giving you credit going forward ;).

And agreed, Raindog is first in line whether he likes it or not :D. Great pics btw

Hey, Whetstone, you now have to pay forward a new word. :) (Preferably knife-related)

I knew that would get a response from the "eye in the sky".

anyhoo, I have some Becker handles to pay forward, from a BK7, that were media-blasted to be more grippy. They're now more grayish than black, and have been rattling around in the "extras" box for a while. The texturing is very subtle, not like stippling, but still much more grippy than the factory smooth finish. I can take a picture if anyone's interested, I'm just feeling a little lazy right now. I'll post more stuff up later today.

OK, OK, you guys win:p. I'll find something to post up tomorrow. Sorry Chewy, but I'll send it along to ya if it's not my thing.

Raindog. No sweat at all, man. I wanted my wife to try it out. She loves my Byrd Raven, but always wishes it was bigger. This could be the thing. I might just buy one, anyway. Let me know what you think of it.

Anyone currently expecting items from me. I mailed them today and they should arrive by Thursday. Enjoy!

Still on the factory grivory though? I have a BK5 I use in the kitchen and I hate the stock handles when they get wet, but I don't want to shell out for micarta when it will just absorb meat juice and things like that.

I blasted my BK9 scales and the grip is much improved when wet.

Yeah, it's factory grivory, but as Jerry D pointed out, the blasted handles give a nice solid grip without being rough. It's not as aggressive as stippling, but works just fine. The only thing someone might not like about them is the color, which is now more grayish than black. I think it's kinda cool, but maybe not everyone thinks like I do (god I hope not:D)

I've Been on the quest for thick sheets of (orange) polyethylene that someone skilled in the Becker handles can cut for me.

I found one supplier once but then forgot about it.

Give it a good amount of time, if no one wants them, I can try them out on my kitchen BK5 to see if it serves me better!

RemyKaze- would it be OK if I took dibs on that multitool if noone has claimed it yet? I'm a bit reluctant to actually claim it until I pay something forward (I'd like to stay on the positive side of things), which I will try to do in next few days.

I'm considering asking a colleague at work (I work on CNC mill and he operates the 'old school' lathe) to make me a few brass signets for personal use (I've been tempted to retire the one I use currently, and can't decide between two designs I like, so why not have two :p). I guess I could ask for one more if anybody's interested in one (you'd get a blank and would have to have whatever you want engraved on it later on)- if they're inclined to send letters in proper, old school way.

I do alot of working with HDPE, just for the sake of having a knife-related conversation mind if I ask why your wanting poly scales vs. something a little more standard?
