Alright, looks the the custom is going to Macgyver71, pending address.

The little scrap knife is going to keroscene.

The Svord is going to Whetstone, to be passed on to whomever he pleases, although I think technically Raindog called it, and since I am passing a knife from him on, it seems karmically correct. Is that even a word?

The Mini Bushlore is not for PIF, but for Whet to check out.

Now, I have a Gerber Suspension multitool, like new, that I'm never ever going to use. I want it to go to someone who works with their hands and actually needs the tools on a daily basis, like I do, but doesn't own a multitool yet. Gerbers are great starter multitools that won't let you down and get you ready for the big dogs (Leatherman and Victorinox Swisstool).

Yo Remy, not calling dibs. I'm just curious as to what you do. Hope that's not out of line :o

I like "karmically" and will plagiarize it shamelessly without giving you credit going forward ;).

And agreed, Raindog is first in line whether he likes it or not :D. Great pics btw

I'm a maintenance/technician sorta dude. I also take a lot of things apart just to put them back together at home. Case in point, I repaired a TV my stepfather received for free from an older man at a boot sale, so now he has a practically new LCD. I guess I'm one of those Les Stroud guys that never leaves home without my Wave on my belt. :D

Thanks man. I had to toy around with my phone settings...still not back to the DSLR instant focus level of photos it was taking before. Maybe cause I had it on frame-by-frame, but that gets annoying when you go to review pics and there's like 10 of the exact same pic in the span of a few seconds.

I'm rambling. You can have the word free of charge haha.

Would you say swisstools are the peers of leatherman in quality/durability?

Awesome, man! So you're one of them tinkerer-types, eh? :D

I'd say Victorinox makes a fine, superbly crafted multitool with a beautiful look. In my opinion they are superior to Leatherman. However, the blade is too small and shaped incorrectly for what I use blades for, with the exception of one that has your typical spear point. Cant remember the name.

Can't beat either but I worked in a paper plant and got gunk and chemicals all in my wave and it's still true. I'd take a leatherman as a mechanic/maintenance, and Victorinox as an EDC/engineering/electrician.

Ooooh yeah. My worst fixation though is restoring old tools like scythes and machetes.

Ya'll need to look at the SOG Powerlock. We have beat on them mercilessly for years now with no issues. I'm talking farm use, treated like a rented mule. :D

"Farm use" should replace "hard use" as a description denoting a knife that will perform in extreme environments without failure and still be useful as a cutting tool IMO. Who cares if a knife can be shoved through a car door if it can't effectively slice anything. Stepping down from soapbox now........

Geez, that sounds like my description, though never "tech" for money...usually to fix someones trash to make it someones elses treasure, or to just try and hack it from its intended purpose (which earned me my nickname) :D

Heheh, so true. Whatever the closest tool get used as a hammer/prybar/knife/screwdriver/etc. regardless of what it's true intended use was at one time.

I kinda like the designs, but don't think I like the knife steel for a multitool. I actually prefer 420HC over their AUS8. But I reallt want to step it up to a charge with 154cm or s30v...only problem is, I haven't been able to bust my Wave yet!

Around here it means the same thing for different jobs. Maintenance and technician spread the gamut from physical repair to robotic software.

I wish I had one of you tech savvy guys close to me. I got a 800 dollar laptop that needs a new CPU. Otherwise its a paper weight.

Did the forum just change dramatically, with the dark background color and white text font, or am i having severe issues with my phone?

Did you somehow accidentally change your screen colors?
In the accessibility menu of my settings, there's a 'Negative colors' option.
Perhaps there is an option to change the style in your forum control panel that you somehow got to and changed?
It's the same as always, here.
