Pay It Forward -- it's been a while

Tell you what, you take it. Try it for a while. If you decide that is not for you, then I will take it. How's that? After all, you were first.

LOL, after seeing the ball dropper it's awesome to see people who want to do things right. But.. since there are 2 of you the only fair way to decide is going to be THunderDOme. 2 men enter, 1 man leaves. ;-) (Waiting for the final yay or nay from Jerry)

May I give the 550 a shot? I feel a little guilty asking since I was really not planning on claiming anything this time around, but the temptation is too much. I've been drooling over the Hinderer design ZT's for a while now.

I'd gladly give my dibs up to someone that pops up a bit newer to the scene needing a good folder to beat on though.

Hey Jerry OR Sabre,

I live in Tigard Or (about 15 minutes from Kershaw/ZT headquarters). If you want you (or OilMan) can send that to me and I can take it in and send it back to you! There warranty is great and I have no issue doing that if you want them to give it a one over.

sabre cat, Jerry has given his blessing so please send me your addy and I'll hopefully get this on it's way yet today.

If you guys don't decide by 1pm CST or so it will be a Surprise. :-) (Not a very good one though considering I only have 1 address..) ThunderDome is still an option.

Make - The Kabar is boxed and ready for the FedEx guy to pick it up. I will shoot you the tracking number to your email this afternoon. Enjoy it my friend!

If someone told me last week that I would refuse a free ZT knife I would think that was crazy talk.

Send it to Jerry. He gets a great knife with a fun story behind it. A knife is always better if it has a story to go with it. If he ever makes it out here to California wine country, he can show me the knife over a bottle of wine.:D

What do I get? My wife feels that I have to many knives and I get to tell her that I turned down a ZT to make her happy. Maybe I will drag her to the local shop to show her a ZT. I will have more fun teasing her than with a new knife.

Watching this whole thing go down makes me happy that I resisted the urge to snap that offer up. I can't afford a ZT but looking at it just didn't speak to me and I didn't want to take a knife just for some perceived value or for a name.
Sitting back also let me watch one of the craziest exchanges I've ever seen with two knife nuts playing keepaway with a knife they both really want. I think we've officially overcome any negativity from earlier and are right where we should be with the caliber of folks we have on this forum.
Makes me happy to be a memeber just to be able to virtually brush shoulders with good guys like you three.

This is a fun thread. It has me considering a couple of blades that I can maybe use to pay it forward. Thinning the herd would please my wife and that is always a good thing.

I can see it now. I will be telling my wife, "No, Dear, I really did buy this Sebenza as an investment. We will make money on it. Honest. Besides, Honey, remember, last month I turned down that ZT on blade forums AND, I got rid of those two knives on the Pay It Forward thread. I did this for you."

Still up if anyone wants one

I already claimed a sog seal pup from BillK to try out, but that sog flash 2 made me think about my cousin. If it's OK to claim a second knife.
His current carry is a Kershaw cryo that keeps getting all loose and just won't operate when tightened up even the slightest . He just graduated the 8th grade and this would be an awesome gift for him.

I don't currently have anything to offer ( I only have a small number of users, the rest is cheap novelty crap that I collect ) but when I do have something to offer I will definitely pay it forward.

2 ZTs leaving Illinois.. :-)

Wow this thread has gone crazy since I last looked at it in the past few days I can't believe that. I am so pumped to check out the buck I was sent when I get back from vacation. I have a knife in mind I'd like to add when I get home.

I'd love to be the owner of the SOG but I really only have a bunch of cheap items that most likely no one wants besides a couple of decent SAKs and a gerber. Would that be alright? The SOG is for my younger sisters who will be going on a road trip across the country and may need a little protection, just in case.

OK, seeing how awesome this thread is, I really want to help out. Other than my grip, which will probably have to be pried from my dead hands, I have nothing really of great worth, but I have these two interesting ones... The one on the left is a "survival" knife. There's a compass in the pommel, a small sewing/fishing kit and a few matches in the handle, along with a sharpening stone in the sheath. The nut that holds the handle on loosens over time, so I loctite'ed (blue) it. I just don't use it, and it's being replaced by a custom "Bowie"/iron mistress I'm having made. The other one is a knife my wife got me and the opening is just a little too stiff for my liking...

I know there not the best, but I feel like I have to offer something.

The left is maxam brand, the other I don't know

Edit: it rotated. So when I say left, it's the bottom one
