Pay It Forward -- it's been a while

Here is that manix I mentioned.

Its an old model, from 2010. Sabre ground 154 cm steel, but it's in great condition. I will be shipping it to fehrago tomorrow. My only stipulation is that he uses it, and when he gets tired of it, to gift it and not sell it. I really hope he will enjoy it.[/QUOTE

damn, I would've loved that

Yeah, me too. I have tried Spyderco knives in the past and they just have not worked well for me. Great knives but they take up to much pocket real estate. I still want one though. I figure that I will just have to make adjustments in how I carry things. Maybe when I am working full time.

I carry a Manix 2 LW daily in my back pocket. Easiest way to free up pocket real estate is to switch to a slim front pocket wallet and free up a back pocket entirely.

I dislike the idea of sending money for shipping. It kinda defeats the spirit of the PiF. If I can find one of my spare watches I can send you it if your watch doesn't show up.
It's all a big misunderstanding. I gave away the watch and paid the shipping. I also paid the shipping for the knife I claimed that got lost or something. That's why I got a laugh out of it. I appreciate the offer though. Good people here.

What knife got lost this seriously bothers me because you were so fast on shipping me the watch which was awesome

I'm gonna dig around and see what I got. Believe I have some swiss/ multi tool of some kind, couple flash lights, and maybe a zippo.
Have to go to the post office to drop off some packages anyways so kill two birds. I'll post back in a bit.

Hey I need to hear from you concerning the Cryo by tomorrow night or else I will default it to the other person that was wanting it.

Hey sorry man I had family stuff for the holiday going on. I read back through what I missed. Yes I promise to use it, and definitely not leave it lay on the dock while fishing. Since it has a pocket clip I will try to get into the habit of keeping it in the same pocket all the time. I can get my uncle to sharpen it up right for me. His are always sharp. What do you need me to do next?

Just send me an email with your shipping address, and I will get the knife shipped out as soon as I can.

Got mine years ago and hated it because I thought it would be the same size as my original Manix. After a couple of months I carried it once and loved it. It's now my go to fishing knife because it's stainless and easy to open/close while working on other stuff with your other hand. One of my most favorite knives now..

ps. I got everything shipped last week although I don't think I sent tracking for the last one. It did go out though and should get there early this week if it isn't already there..

For the curious, I would think that the "waiting period" for claiming another offer would be to offer a quality item of yours to effectively "pay it forward". If someone has given a few items and claims a few I don't see a big deal and people that do set their rules accordingly. You can also rely on your common decency and realize that the folks here are usually trying to get unused knives into the hands of people who will love and use them. Remember that they paid their hard earned money for those knives and that none of us here are entitled to them. If everyone can contain themselves a little and genuinely limit their desires to what they will truly use or pass on we'll continue to have an awesome thread with lots of happy people giving and getting knives that will earn their keep and maybe just get someone a new hobby.

Mostly I'm trying to say, don't be a greedy mooch.

I lost my prybar at work and as last hope I posted for one on the wanted page. This item was not expensive but was out of production and no other way to find one. Few weeks go by as the little hopes were diminishing, I receive a pm. To my surprise, he does not ask for anything but my address. He will definitely receive something in return but the notion of helping out others was inspiring. This forum is a great place filled with great members. I hope that does not taken advantage of in anyway.
I would like to contribute and pay it forward as gentleman did for me with prybar.
I would like to see it go to someone who cannot afford and will put it to use. My hopes is that you can gift something back when you have the opportunity. Please do not interpret this thread as a giveaway to those who have the means to fund their hobby.
These items have very minimal use.

Well said sir.

I'm just gonna keep giving until I earn enough brownie points to claim a CRK small 21 that someone lists. Cmon, I know someone's got one they want to give me :D

If I'm walking down the street and find a winning lottery ticket, everyone here gets a Sebenza in 21 and 25 size.
