Pay It Forward -- it's been a while

Didn't think it would!!
Yeah, about the Endura!! That kid had an old Tenacious and when the Endura arrived he gave the Tenacious to his cousin!! He got a knife and then he gave a knife to a kid who didn't have a knife!

I don't think we should call out people directly like that in public, but it's a new member in the last 4 or 5 pages.

Right on that's why I put must have been a member before this thread started. Every once in awhile I look who's browsing this thread find a lot of July 2016 new accounts I don't have time for those people.

And I now see who that is 30ish posts 20 of them in the pif thread smh.

Love this thread! Makes me wish I had more to give. Perhaps I missed one...us knife nuts always have a stray laying around somewhere.
Lets keep it going, ladies and gents! We just passed 1400!

Edit: Remember when you were a kid and your parents told you sometimes it feels better to give than to receive, and you thought they were full of crap? Turns out, like most things, they were right.

The garbage will get weeded out very quickly. There was one ballsy new member that saw who was giving stuff away and sent PMs trying to get first dibs on knives that weren't even offered yet!

Ooh! Joe went platinum! Lookin good sir.

Me First and the Gimme Gimmies is a great cover band, but a terrible attitude. In defense of the newbies though, I have seen a couple others that joined in the last few weeks and promptly gave knives away rather than claimed any.

Sent out alotnof knives here and not looking for praise or even a thanks but wtf how about hey I received the knife. Haven't see a few that claimed from me put up a damn thing will be very selective on my next go around for sure. And to the people that have acknowledged getting a knife right on.

Hey gb, when did you send it? I haven't seen it, thank you however.

Sorry my friend.......platinum now and I'm pretty sure I can't speak with you any longer!!! I now know 2 different secret handshakes!!!
Sorry!

Yah I noticed that too. I didn't think people should be asking for so many things. There was also another guy that claimed 5 things and offered barely anything back. And before anybody mentions it, I did receive a Cryo from DBK45 that I love and carry every day. I would have gotten something to offer in turn, but my dad has been out of work so I used the money I earned from helping my uncle to pay for mom's car insurance and some groceries.

It is enough to know that the knife I gave you is being used and getting the love I couldn't give it. You don't have to pay it forward, but if you decide to take your time until you have something to spare. Giving is good, not being able to afford and still giving is just kind of ill advised.

Juet letting everybody know I have tried out the karambit, and I really just can't like it. I will be putting it back up here within the next few days. Don't try to claim it now, but I will try my best to get it to a good home, not just the first taker (this thread is becoming rather reactionary, first come first served, I want knives to go to great homes first!). Seriously, though, a karambit is an unwieldy knife for EDC.

I have three critters of the sort running around. He's the old fart of the bunch.

The Barlow is an Anvil brand I believe. It has a very "industrial era" feel about it. The red scales are some sort of fairly soft synthetic, the bolsters are stamped and affixed with tabs that appear to be welded to the liners.

It feels cheap, but from a time when cheap was done very well. Kind of reminds me of a Bill DeShivs Leverletto. All just stamped and bent, scales don't fit, yet somehow special. Cool little knife.

That's exactly how my imperial Barlow is constructed, and while they're not tank like they make for a great lightweight edc pocketknife and I've basically carried mine every single day since I got it ( changed it up for a day a couple times, but it's hard to go without it )

Seriously, though, a karambit is an unwieldy knife for EDC.

They are peculiar fellows... But that is what makes them so polarizing. I found that they excel at the odd tasks that other knives can work pretty good at, given a keen enough edge.
Cutting: plant material, plastic clam shells, tape, fishing line, fabric, soft tissue (zipping fish bellies especially), and fibrous material like rope, things like that tend to react best a thin pointy knife (except for the rope and tape), but a hawkbill/kerambit just flat out work!

I have been looking for a spyderedge version for awhile now. Just a matter of time I suppose...

I sorry to say that I can't seem to remember who sent me the sog flash 2 for my cousin 😳 ( I wanna say it was maybe gonebad ? )
Any I spent some time today putting a nice edge on it so I don't give him a dull knife ( gonna need s ceramic rod as there's a few burrs in the serrations ) and it took a great edge. I did however notice that it seemed a bit easier to sharpen than the seal pup billk sent me even though they're both supposed to be aus8 .
I still don't know when il get to give it to him, but when I do I'll be sure to post a pic or two and try and get him to join.

I'm just going to come out and say it's maybe me a few people were talking negatively about. I've claimed 1 thing from this thread, and it wasn't even for me. ( Side note-@Jerry D is a friend from EDCP, and he's giving me a Gerber MP 600, but he offered in PM) I'm not trying to be greedy or not pay it back. Honestly, I don't have anything extra to pay it back with. My current blade count is a Spyderco Tenacious, Buck Vantage Select Small, Vic Tinker, a busted Vic Farmer, Rapala Filet Knife, Alox Classic, 2 beater Gerbers, and a LM Wingman I'm working on fixing. Being a teen who works his a$$ off in the 107* FL heat and humidity everyday without reprieve, I use my tools a lot. I don't have any "extra money". I put $3000 in my college mutual fund this summer, I gave the rest of what I made to my parents to buy groceries, etc. I'm oldest of 6 kids too, so I've got a heck of a lot of responsibility. I apologize if I've added anything negative to this thread and will try not to claim anything. Unless it's a Spyderco Endura, my holy grail. ( yeah, I've got big dreams)

Right now it's 0500 by me and I've got to bike to work. I'm late. Most kids my age sleep till noon and don't have a job.

Over and out.

Edit- if anyone has beef with me, please be appropriate and PM me so as not to clog this thread.

I have one of the models above, aside from some small changes (carbide wire cutter, black coating, primary blade shape) it's the same as an mp600, if I'm not mistaken. Both are USA made and of very serviceable quality. 👍

One of the best, toughest, and coolest multitools out there

Good old Gerber quality, the MP600 are the AK47s of the mutitool world

I love mine, hope you like yours!

That's very kind of whoever gave it to the thread

I need one ∆∆. Very useful tool.

On that note. I got my old leather man back from my friend today. With out the tip of the blade lol.

Since nobody seemed to want my SOG we will try something else. I recently purchased a Rat 2, a knife I always wanted to try but always skipped over it for much more expensive knives. Well it's an awesome little knife and now I want to try a Rat 1. So my offer is this, take your pick of a Rat 1 or Rat 2 and as I order my Rat 1 from BHQ I will order one for you as well. Let's try to get someone who has never owned a Rat 1 or 2 and would like to give it a try. Perhaps someone who is in need of a good solid EDC. Condition is I would like to see updates on the knife and how it is working out.
Pics for the sake of pics, not the knife you would receive. PM me if you're interested as this thread is huge and I don't have the time to go through all the pages.
