Pay It Forward -- it's been a while

Since nobody seemed to want my SOG we will try something else. I recently purchased a Rat 2, a knife I always wanted to try but always skipped over it for much more expensive knives. Well it's an awesome little knife and now I want to try a Rat 1. So my offer is this, take your pick of a Rat 1 or Rat 2 and as I order my Rat 1 from BHQ I will order one for you as well. Let's try to get someone who has never owned a Rat 1 or 2 and would like to give it a try. Perhaps someone who is in need of a good solid EDC. Condition is I would like to see updates on the knife and how it is working out.
Pics for the sake of pics, not the knife you would receive.

Great offer. I would love to try the rat 2 at some point my self. Let us know how you like it after you get it.

Another July member above,

What's wrong with that??

Edit- So sorry I've been busy with school and work prior to this summer. It's hard to get straight A's, pass college level AP exams, and work a job while posting on another forum. I'm active on EDC Planet quite often, with 1297 posts.

I apologize if being a newcomer has offended anyone.

Very generous Rat offer, tough to beat it for value EDC.

The Link shipped to FanBoy today, he should have it early next week.

Absolutely nothing personal here, brother but what relevance are posts on another forum to us here?

The issue that others are delicately (and perhaps more bluntly by some) stating is that this forum has very generous members, but every time there's one of these "pay it forward" threads, we get guys coming out of the wood work to join up so they can try to get their hands on things that really, should be for other members in good standing and contribution to this forum.

Again, I'm not trying to rag you here, just clearly explain without insulting anyone what the situation is. Have a good day.

I'm just going to come out and say it's maybe me a few people were talking negatively about. I've claimed 1 thing from this thread, and it wasn't even for me. ( Side note-@Jerry D is a friend from EDCP, and he's giving me a Gerber MP 600, but he offered in PM) I'm not trying to be greedy or not pay it back. Honestly, I don't have anything extra to pay it back with. My current blade count is a Spyderco Tenacious, Buck Vantage Select Small, Vic Tinker, a busted Vic Farmer, Rapala Filet Knife, Alox Classic, 2 beater Gerbers, and a LM Wingman I'm working on fixing. Being a teen who works his a$$ off in the 107* FL heat and humidity everyday without reprieve, I use my tools a lot. I don't have any "extra money". I put $3000 in my college mutual fund this summer, I gave the rest of what I made to my parents to buy groceries, etc. I'm oldest of 6 kids too, so I've got a heck of a lot of responsibility. I apologize if I've added anything negative to this thread and will try not to claim anything. Unless it's a Spyderco Endura, my holy grail. ( yeah, I've got big dreams)

Right now it's 0500 by me and I've got to bike to work. I'm late. Most kids my age sleep till noon and don't have a job.

Over and out.

Edit- if anyone has beef with me, please be appropriate and PM me so as not to clog this thread.
You know, one day when my finances are back to normal(moving etc) I'd like to gift you a new endura. They don't seem to be *too* spendy

Nah, I get it. Just trying to explain I'm not one of those guys, give me time and I'll add as much as I can to this forum. I already put up one of my handmade custom tags and it's been claimed. Trying my best here brother. And being 16, I can be a bit of an arse sometimes...... [emoji23]

No worries, man. As I said, I was just pointing out in clear terms what I perceive to be some of the issues folks were having. Another might be the idea that some of the new folks are joining up to request items from this thread for folks who aren't members. All I ask is that you keep in mind what the intentions of this thread were: to share knives around to other contributing members of Bladeforums, not as a general "let's give knives to the internet". There are some EXCEPTIONALLY generous folks on this thread, having passed out expensive knives they could have easily sold.

So, as long as you (and other July members) keep in mind what this thread is, I think we'll all be alright.

Roger that. Next kiridashi or pry I make is going up here.

Well let's see.... 23 out of you 35 posts have been in this Pay it forward thread. Hmmmm. Wonder why.

So what is your interest been on here since you joined for free. Not too many people if any bought a cheap paid membership for bladeforums since this thread started. There has been a couple of ninjas come and go as well. What's the base membership 10 bucks or something. Just a tad more than the price of postage to ship a knife.

I will give you credit for being active though.

Also.......for those of us that have been here a while, and contribute regularly to this forum, we get a bit anxious at times. There have been some real scammers that hurt this very tight community. We all take it seriously.
There have been a couple of douches in this thread that have shit all over it. These tools are quickly found out and dealt with......mainly because we have each other's backs.
Hang around a while and you'll become a part of it.

Nice work, btw!!
Joe

Yeah I made a thread awhile ago now where the rat 2 was highly praised. I never did get one or try though. I just claimed
Sabre kershaw vapor 2 though. I might send back to him or repay it forward at my ship cost. It's not perfect condition though it was like new but got some scuff marks being in my pocket. It's a big heavy and big for a folder in my pocket. Same time I don't own a better blade. I also have something to contribute. Some raw material for knife making. A piece of ebony wood dipped in wax on the ends. A member of this community sent it to me over a year ago and I don't have the time or tools to progress with it. I'd like either original owner or someone who can use it and share their work with community. I want to be cautious with whom gets it because it wasn't best for me to get it.

How do you like it?
Baller dude.

Not to often you find kids as hard working as you. I know I wasn't(still had a job) but it's a thing most people don't learn till their late 20's or life forces them to work their nuts off. It's a habit that will get you places in life

I would take that ebony. .. Would make great scales

I am fairly new. I have very little to offer the forum, but I have a lot to learn about knives. I did take the Mora Companion to give to my son. NOt expensive and a good , inexpensive knife for him to learn with and if he abuses it out of ignorance, it won't break the bank or a heart. As time goes, I will try to add
