It's all good. A late response is better than none.

I think I have already sent you an email at that address but I will be happy to do it again.

Thank you for the offer and in behalf of my daughter, a second thank you.

Rat 1's are great knives for the money. 039.jpg
I love this thread. That's why I will offer my used Ontario RAT 1 for anyone wanting to try it. It will come with the box.

I choose to offer it today on the Valentine's Day because it has PINK handle. It will be a good knife to give to the misses after some sharpening.

I meant to put it up as a give away a while ago but never had the chance to do it. Now this is the perfect place for it

If you do, I could really use one. In my office I'm kind of the guy people go to to fix things, and have been looking for an inexpensive but good multi tool to keep in my desk.

Well, I was able to build one out of leftover components from other multi-tool projects. It is a standard stock Gerber MP600 series.

There is one minor problem though, the serrated blade is broken off at the hilt. Gerber will repair the damage at little or no charge if you send it in for repair. Not a big deal, really because there is also a "like new" blade with a plain edge. If I find a replacement blade, I will swap it out before the MT is shipped but, like I said, it's not a big deal.
How many people use the serrated blade, anyway?

19-3ben, I have tried to contact you, without any luck. The multi-tool is yours if you want it. You have through March 1st to let me know. After that it is up for grabs.

Oh they're excellent. I'd be totally fine carrying one over any higher end knife any day.

Totally agree. But I also have a RAT 2 that I preferred as a backup. That's why I think someone should have my rat 1.

I have to ask, why did you get pink?

I may have to just try it for a week or so before it is shipped to my daughter.

Can't wait for it to get here!

BTW, shipping funds will go out Tues, or Wed.

It's here! The RAT1 made it to my door.

I can see why people like Ontario's Rat series of knives. Nicely made and a well though out design.

My daughter has already seen a picture of it and excited to get it.

Thank you again.

I was planning on giving one to my wife. But later I found out that's she is not a big fan of liner lock

My Rat 2 with my primary EDC, titanium scales PM2 in S110V. I like the contrast. Plus, its thumb flip action is unbeatable!

I will admit one thing I like about pink knives. Even though your friends will tease you about them, there is little chance they will get stolen from you. Most people would think twice before pocketing a pink blade.:D

I'd carry a pink knife. Almost bought a hot pink Rough Rider Stockman just because. My CCW classmates joked about getting pink pistols because of you gotta show a wannabe thug you're not an easy victim, may as well do it with a pink gun ;)

Updated my post to reflect changes to availability.

Dude, I love this thread! Props to JupiterPaladin for starting it back up again. :)

All I have are some Rough Rider, Colt and Marbles traditionals. One of each, actually. All are pretty much like new. I like my Wenger Tradesman too much to switch to another type of multitool, and the trapper was an impulse buy because of the horse on it awesome green and blue synthetic semiprecious stone inlay. :o :p

Update: Colt trapper on the way to JupiterPaladin at his request. Enjoy!

Also this fixed blade that I got from this thread. It's not quite the right shape for my hand and I'm not using it so I'm putting 'er back into the mix for someone else who needs/wants it.

Others still available, as is this little Buck Mini Protege. I couldn't figure out what size thumb stud would work so instead of getting a bunch of different sizes, I got one of the ones that screws onto the outside. Looks a little funny but works. I'll include the tool that goes with it.

I'd like to offer up these two to the crowd
First is a Rough Rider Half Hawk, basically new condition. I've sharpened the main blade, never carried it, and it's looking for someone who will have a use for it. Great knife with excellent snap and fit and finish.

Next is an old colonial scout knife. One thing to note is that the tip of the blade makes contact with the spine when it snaps closed, which bugs the hell out of me. Other than that the blade (geometry, steel, etc) is excellent - in just a few minutes it took an extremely keen edge. Also to note is that the awl has snapped closed on my thumb before and cracked my nail, but that's because I was applying a lot of force. Just thought I'd mention it.

If you'd like either one of these, I only ask that you would please pay shipping.

Just a reminder, these are up for anyone who's interested

It is after March 1st and 13-9ben never did contact me so I guess the Gerber MP600 multi-tool will be up for grabs. I have found a replacement serrated blade that I have to still install.

Once that is done, the MT will be serviceable with a full set of tools. Not really sure where the sheath is, so you will have to provide your own sheath. Gerber will send you one for free if you call them. They did it for me a couple of years ago.

The first person that claims it here and is willing to cover shipping cost can have it. Sorry that I have to charge for shipping but my daughter is going to school in Idaho and money is super tight.
