It's a folder not a fixed blade. It's yours if you want it. If not it'll go to dynamicmoves.

Please pass it along to dynamicmoves. I think he will get more use out of it.

Hopefully sometihng else will come along soon I can claim.

The thread tends to level off on the weekends for some reason, not dead or wounded but probably just slow. Nice to see new people joining in. My next offer will be early next week. Help me decide, fixed or folder?

You are an animal. Folder. Maybe something traditional? I always love to see what folks have in that regard.

I guess with all these new people on here someone might want these twenty sided dice I put up a couple of threads ago.

I believe the one of the right is a counter die. Makes it easy to keep track of life in games like Magic the Gathering, but hardcore D+Ders won't let you use those dice because they're not "random enough".

Ok. I have a question. Both of these knives have received a lot of praise in these PIF threads, but I have never tried either out.

Help me decide between buying an Opinel #8 or a Svord Peasant Knife (regular, not small.)

Thanks for any input! If there are any other similar knives I should know about, please tell me.

If I do end up with it and I don't like it I'll pass it on to you.

Haha, based on all the research I've done on that knife, I'm pretty confident that you'll like it. It's a very practical little thing; enjoy it bud!

Because I own and EDC one, I'm very biased towards Opinel - even more so towards the stainless version.

Oops, just saw your post above this one. You're up dynamicmoves.

Whoever ended up with the D2 KOA, if you want to send it to me first, I can gladly put an edge better than factory via paper wheels. I'd then pass it to the claimant. Should be able to have 1 day turnaround depending on holiday mail run.

I received one of each through the PIF threads, and had never owned either previously. I like both, and have always liked carbon steel because of how sharp you can get it. The opinel is thinner and lighter, and is probably the better slicer overall, and can be locked. However there is something i really like about the Svord. Not really sure what it is, whether aesthetics or how it feels in hand, but i like the design more and more and am trying to figure out a way to attach a clip to it.

Kabar, its the one I'm thinking then it's not carbon but people will definitely want it. If you make a game of it, well then IMA have to play too; I can't fight my love for KABAR.

I vote Opinel. Get both, both are great and completely different. There are no similarities.

They both have the exact same pattern. Learn something new every day:rolleyes:

Yours looks better than mine... I've got some blackness on my blade and natural wood handles.

I also can't really choose between this or the Opinel but I am much more familiar with Opinels and haven't used the Svord much.

Personally I've had more trouble with the Opinel rusting. I live in Northern Virginia though. Very humid during the summer.

Thal, I always put a nice coat of mineral oil on them if I store them, or each night if one is in use. Doesn't help in all things or in all cases, but it works okay.

I eventually put a vinegar patina on my mora, opinel, and svord, along with grabbing mineral oil. Took me a little while to learn though.

I'm not a veteran or active duty but I have a lot of family that is.

Any chance I could claim it? I try and show support for them as much as possible and this looks great.

Absolutely! Send me your address and I'll have it en-route in a few days (if you want, send a pic wearing it & a brief review..if not, no worries...it's NOT a condition for wearing it, just something I ask recipients, WITHOUT any expectations)
