I think we have a winner! One thing though, will he mind that the blade is bent? It does kind of detract from the "elegance" of it (I think the smooth white bone looks very "elegant" though).

I do not think he will mind. He is by no means a knife nut, though I hope to change that. If he gets into them, then I will probably treat him to a nice Case Trapper. Thanks for the toothpick by the way.

Ok guys time for my next PiF:

Today I'm offering a black handle PE CRKT drifter, as sad as it is this is the knife that really started my collecting, before I was really into knives I carried this knife every day for years and I had one of ever option (black, grey, SS and the tiger stripe blade SRM version).
This particular one is the last one I haven't lost or given away and its slightly modified- this was the first blade I ever cut a wave in* for practice

* all drifters are tip-down only so the wave is NOT usable, it was done only for practice actually cutting into a blade. (Now if you want to loose pocket carry, or mout a tip-up clip it would work then)

*Please note I can not ship till a week from Monday.

I'LL TAKE IT! I would like to try out a CRKT knife since I haven't owned one, but I would probably PIF it after I carried it a while.

Just a suggestion, but should PIF posts be in a different font so people can find them among all the 'fluff'

I think that it would be a good idea, especially if there is no pic posted.

grownstar, that cryo is awesome. I loved my cryo... before I pif'd it to the bottom of a lake ( unintentionally):D

Hahaha how generous of you!

Seriously, though, that does suck. But the best part is that you can replace it for cheap :)

p.s. jjoanty01, check your email!

You got it man. Do you think there's any chance of carrying tip-up? Or is that idea to far fetched since its a FF? It'll feel weird modifying a knife for tip-down!

I know! I am a tip up guy exclusively. Maybe it is possible if you could somehow mount the clip to or through the rear screw, like the wire clip on a Sage? I guess the tang would wear a whole on the inside of your pocket then.

PIF Post
I have really enjoyed being a member of this forum the short time I have been here, and found plenty of good information here even before joining. While I will admit I regret going to the whine and cheese forum ( I know I was warned!) the rest of the forums I have been to have been awesome.
So, here are some items I would like to contribute the PIF thread. Unless you are a new knife maker wanting some knives to tinker with, I would prefer not giving more than two to one person. If you can't see it well enough, the coin in the picture for size reference is a quarter. Have another knife I may post later, I'll see whether I get any interest in these or not.;)
Will ship within the Con US.

Knife comes with sheath and strap (not in picture) that buckles to sheath.

This knife is 98% and comes with box. Carried once or twice and that is it, no heavy cutting.

This pic didn't turn out to great, but you get the idea of what it looks like.

You ever feel like a certain knife is calling your name more so than others?

For some reason, I feel like my old Caly 3.5 is calling out to me from wherever it is now.

You got it man, email / PM me.

All the time. It's what makes up the list of knives to buy. Top of the list is a Spyderco Superhawk...if I can find one.

The rear screw is actually a great idea, I was going to use those "push-in threaded inserts" (like pictured in NCCOLE's milli tip-up conversion thread) I just got from fastenal with one of the extra regular style take-off clips I have on hand but I like the wire clip's and if I could find a way to incorporate that it sounds like a winner.
