It seems to me Also that charity should be a community event.

Kidding![]()
Worldwood,
I just came home from the PO and found your package.
This jab will make a great necker and I'm sure my friend will love it.![]()
Thanks again Broseph!
And thanks to Bladechick as well for passing it up
He didn't really call it, i did recommended him however. I think several others agreed
Doesn't matter to me. I agree the discussion is part of the thread. Whatever it takes to satisfy requirements is fine.
Wow--that is a lot of knives! How much have you budgeted for shipping?!? Anyway, what is the knife that looks like a Buck 110? (Top right of picture as it is in the forum)
Can I claim that tanto necker?

I figured 20 or so...They've all been sitting in my top dresser drawer for a good 2 years now, I've had no need for anything other than my ZT0350 to carry (not even my ZT0200, but I've been hoping on a trade for a Becker in another thread, no PIF on that), and I really like the spirit of the PIF threads, and hopefully they get put to good use (and maybe a few good karma points in the grand scheme of Edgedom)
That folder used to reside in my patrol bag for random edge duties where I didn't want to be concerned with losing it, or it getting funkified (like on an medical call, cutting a piece of clothing or seatbelt and getting covered with body fluids), and like a pair of 2 dollar sunglasses, I never managed to lose the darn thing when pricier stuff got lost or destroyed. It's got no name that I know of, 6" long closed, 10" open, and blade it stamped Pakistan....definitely not a top shelf piece in any sense of the word
Yessir. Just email me your address. Might not get sent till later in the week, but it'll be heading your way.
20 for all those knives? Your going to be disappointed if you ship them priority.
Small flat rate boxes run about 6 bucks each.
Medium is about 12
Large flat rate is about 16
I shipped 4 boxes today and it cost me 56.95 in shipping fees.
Thank you sir.
I've got a Pakistani 110 knock off as well, very very common (80s?) imports. The metal is so soft, but every time it's damaged it can be brought back to shaving with a file and stone.
Won't pay it forward because it isn't worth the postage, mine that is; the lockup is iffy , even though I still trust it to stab through cans and not buckle on me.
The blue lock back "rescue" blade in the middle, what is that? I feel like I've seen one in one of the previous threads. Depending on the steel I may want it (if I could make it full SE), if its 8Cr13mov or 440 or something similar that probabily wouldn't be to hard to make full SE with my set of diamond files.
Nope. I won it in a giveaway thread. It's the first Hinderer designed knife I've owned, and while the design is awesome, I'm so lefty that the framelock just doesn't work right for me -- or I just can't get the hang of closing it with my left hand. If this came in a lefty version, I would not be parting with it so easily.Hey loonybin - was that mine? I paid one forward at some point. Regardless that is a great knife, someone should jump on that. Like now![]()
PM me your info, sir!I'll take it!![]()
No, you missed a Cryo II.Did I miss yet another cryo?![]()
While the discussion has been interesting, it also makes it hard to figure out who is offering what. I followed at least one of the conversations and realized I had to go back and re-read some posts to see what I had missed being offered. Maybe if the conversation part was more boring...Also agreed, we have had some hilarious and informative discussions/posts in these threads. Not sure it would be the same without the commentary. I am on board if General is the more correct setting

I am taking that as a compliment. I think.![]()

For those of you suggesting the next "pay it forward" thread be started in the Community forum, the simple answer is you can't. The first line describing the Community forum is "This forum is intended for non-knife related discussion." The General knife discussion forum is really the only place for this thread and any additional ones. The intent of my earlier post was not imply every post had to be on-topic and knife related. My point was if we have two pages of "guess what happened to me today" posts we have problem. The majority of the posts here should be on-topic but nobody is give anyone a hard time for some thread drift given the nature of this thread. Common sense if you best guide.
I am going to throw my hat in the ring here. I have two knives I would like to see if anyone is interested in. They were acid etched and stonewashed by me.
The first, a Spyderco Persistence, is the first knife I ever tried and it turned out pretty good. I was not happy with how the pivot area turned out as I didn't sufficiently protect the track of the detente ball. You can feel a slight bump when opening but it isn't that bad at all. I tried smoothing it out and you can see that. It is however a perfectly capable knife and is very sharp.
The second is a Kershaw Leek I obtained in a trade. It turned out very good. There is a slight re-curve to the blade from being sharpened so much (I think the Leek is from '08) but there is a lot of life left. I removed the safety and don't plan on putting it back, but if I can find it I will send it along with the knife.
