Correct me if I am wrong guys, but it is supposed to be unbiased giving of items right? I mean that was my understanding. I someone wants to claim everything that is listed, then so be it. It would be on that person to deal with the "Karma Fallout" from being greedy. But then again, it may be someone who actually needs the items. Just my way of doing it, but if I offer something, the only thing I ask is that you live in the US. Shipping charges and all.

Like I said, let me know if I am wrong or out of line on my post. It is just how I understood how this was supposed to work.

Ideally, absolutely. There are some people out there who are receiving a ton of gear for what it seems just to stockpile it. They are not giving much (or anything) back and it is sickening to see it. I truly believe in how it should be, unfortunately the abuse and greediness of some makes me re-think those procedures for my own giveaways. Just my .02.

If anything else shows up that I did put a claim on, which it only three items total due in, then if I dont decide to use it, it will be given back to the forum. If I decide to use it, them my current item or two will be put up if the PIF forum as I replaced it.

Also, I didnt see any reply to my request and that is why I asked again. If it was spoken for, that is great and I wanted to ask for it so if someone else wanted it, then they can have it. :)

Yes it is, and it mostly works. Something as well intentioned as this was bound to draw some who would abuse it, but that has been kept to a minimum overall IMO. If you choose you can include conditions on your items to avoid it, but i have been here since like page 2 of the first thread and the vast majority of offers have been first come first served.

I too have been around in these PIF's threads off and on since the start and have seen some folks grabbing everything, whether it is for them, friends, family or just to stock pile and I think the folks on here know who they are. If someone decides to call one out, they better be able to give some details and I already explain my PIF contributions and claimed items. I am not someone that claimed stuff just to stock pile it nor do I claim something I dont intend to use, which is very minimal and if I do get something coming in, it is to replace an item that I currently have in use and that item will be put on the PIF thread as I stated so that is all the defending of my self I will do from this point on. For example: I wanted to get a flipper folder to try and it will replace my Tinker Plus in my pocket if I like it. :)

I didnt know that saying the "p*****" was cursing on here so for that I apologize! :)

Couldn't agree more, it is a shame when people abuse the generosity and spirit shown here! :rolleyes:

It is a shame, but I still think that karma works both ways. Those that give from the heart, receive it back ten fold. Those that take from the needy, well, let's just say that at some point they have bad luck ;)
 
OK, There are two issues that I feel need to be addressed (and I've been thinking about for a couple days now), and then move on with the intention of the thread. Not rules, just common considerations that really should not have to be stated, but maybe a little clarity will help.

First off, NO OFFENSE but if you feel someone is taking advantage of the PIF generosity, howabout we attempt to make first contact through E-mail or PM before calling them out publicly, as that is not what this thread is for and it kills momentum. I believe most can be handled privately without taking the thread there.

Second, it seems there have been several items offered up and not shipped without a valid reason. Please understand I am not referring to those that have unforeseen health issues or other valid reasons. I know there are sometimes issues and delays, that is not a problem. If you offer to pay something forward, please have a plan to get it shipped in a reasonable amount of time, or wait until you can. I'm talking about posting stuff and just don't get around to shipping or or worse, don't plan to. If you have a need for something it is better to claim that item and not post up something to PIF, than to post something and never ship it.

As in anything, communication is key.

OK, lets let this lay and get back to the Blessing folk.

I was curious too. I went as far back as I could, and I didn't see a posting for a Chinese Fixed blade. Maybe I just missed seeing it? :confused:

I always manage to miss stuff too...pop on and look, and find 20 new posts with a half dozen cool blades offered & claimed already :(
keep tellin myself in due time, paths will converge :)
 
Thanks for the offer Mac! I am sure with the name macgyver you should be able to take a piece of paracord and turn it into an airplane or something :D
 
This knife is once again minus the sheath, it didn't fit and houses my Mora 511 now

I agree whole heartedly here, especially in light of the mistaken identity thats happened a couple times.
