PayPal "Gift"

I simply started stating "net" in my sale threads. I had a few Pm's at first but after explaining my reasoning I was left alone.
Lots of payment options from PayPal, money order, personal check etc and I accept them all. I just want the seller to know what I want to net on the sale plain and simple. If they can't do math to add fees if PayPal is the choice they make well id rather not deal with them anyway. [emoji57]

After changing to this method I haven't had questions about "how much for money order" etc. Nothing confusing about "net" imo.

Some guys are always looking for something to cray about [emoji24].

Ongoing personal feud. They should both get at least warnings for it.

Do what you must but he is currently going around to every recent post of mine and saying the same thing. He did so only after attacking me in another thread completely off topic. I think he is up to 4 threads now doing the same thing, though one is W&C so that doesn't count.

I don't mind taking my lumps but I did nothing to him besides defend myself to his trolling.

Lol, I see what you did there...

I don't know how this paypal thing is still even a topic. If the forum doesn't want to change their rules to nanny people then drop it. How would changed forum rules affect someone who doesn't follow rules, or the guys who can't figure out how to choose between pay for goods and services or send money to friends and family? If they stumbled across the item for SALE in the exchange it's pretty self explanatory. If they come in whining because they got ripped off, by paying for gift, feel free to not have to respond to them.

We are in an era of people winning law suits for spilling coffee on themselves, states limiting the size of sodas to make their citizens less fat and people thinking a "no guns allowed" sign should prevent crime. It's time to take some personal responsibility. If you buy goods from someone make sure you get your purchase protection, one way or another. If you gift an internet "friend" money then you are a very trusting person, best of luck, but don't lay it at the feet of the forum because they aren't enforcing enough rules to save you $3 on your next toy.

This is way too much common sense.... :)

Yup. The people who want to break the rules will find a way to do it, no matter what. There are more important things for the volunteer mod staff to be doing than enforcing another company's rules. Further, if idiot people want to let themselves get screwed, they will, no matter the rules.

This pretty much sums up my view.

I am really confused why this topic comes up for discussion every 4-6 weeks. What's hard about this? If its a sale, then treat it like a sale. If its your friend or family member then treat it as such.

I don't see how obligating the mods to enforce this basic logic is helpful. They do a very good job and adding this level of non-sense will not improve anyones experience.

How does this keep coming up? My god. Why can't people just figure in the fees when wanting payment via PayPal? It is not like it is that hard. If everyone would just ignore the "net" and "gift" sales this problem would go away. I don't see how BF should be expected to police the payment methods.

If you want to sell anything to me you'll have to do the math. . . . . And the customer is always right!

You identified yourself as someone who thinks its ok to steal from PayPal and Ebay.

"

I will also say that as far as I am concerned paypal and ebay are a necessary evil....and I am certainly not opposed to "sticking it to them" by using the gift option. Providing that the amount of money is small, and only if the seller/trader has some reputation to back it up. "

What I quoted is you saying you're fine with violating service agreements and stealing user fees from companies you use.

So thanks for identifying yourself.

Thank YOU for identifying yourself. Go ahead and add me to your pretentious and likely large list of people not to do business with.
I was simply stating my opinion on the subject matter. Not implying or admitting that I have ever broke any of said rules. As far as I am concerned if companies cannot follow the rules that they have put forth, we as the consumers shouldn't have to either. Both Ebay and Paypal have been known to do some shady stuff, and I think it is fine to level the playing field. But that doesn't mean that I do. Simply how I feel about the subject. Just as I might think certain laws are silly and useless...doesn't mean that I simply disregard them.

So you think it is fine to cheat paypal out of the fees that were agreed to be paid. Great, we got it the first time you admitted to being fine with being a lying thieve. Why keep repeating it?

I mean, you said this the first time right?

We get it. You are the opposite of what all the good members are here. Again, thanks for pointing yourself out and defending your shadiness so vehemently.

According to an online article I read, as much as 60% of Paypal Friends & Family payments are suspected to be used for buying goods/services and not just a monetary gift. And Paypal expects this, and therefor has higher fees for normal Paypal transactions to compensate.

So basically if everyone used Paypal correctly, we would all be paying less for their services fees. But humans can't be trusted.

Wow. Now you're drawing some serious conclusions.

I thought I could share my OPINION on a subject without being crucified and made into a pariah. Guess not. Guess I am just a no good lying thief. You obviously have me all figured out.

How is that not shady? How are you not ripping a company off if you do such a thing? How are you not lying to them if agreed to pay the fees but then don't? See the problem here?

You are the one who shared your opinion. You opinion is a dishonest one. Seems rather simple doesn't it?

It's ok, Metalhed...I'd still do business with you, via PP Goods of course! I for one appreciate your candidness, & don't hold it against you.

And would you PLEASE, turn down that music! :D

Do you not think that I have these opinions for a reason? Did I ever once even say that I HAD done these things? Take a look at my past for sale threads, I have never asked anyone to pay with paypal gift, nor have I asked/suggested for "X amount" with a "net to me" in my prices. Ebay/Paypal have both screwed me over in the past, as well as many people I know. Take a look online, their reputation is far from clean, and they have done shady stuff time and time again. So in my opinion they can get bent...however that doesn't mean that I engage in breaking their policies at all. Should you be accused of breaking the law if you publicly state that you are against the policy? Even if you do follow the law? Quit making silly assumptions based off of the opinion that I posted.

At any rate I am done arguing the point any further. Please feel free to add me to your pretentious "do not do business with" list as well.

Thank you! I'll turn the volume back down to 10 :D
