Pinecones

I live in the desert. No pine cones to be had.

if you are short on food you can eat them too. I hear they are great for clearing out the colon. Fiber, yummy

I already take a fiber supplement twice daily. Does wonders. Unless you forgot you took it and take it again and get a double dose. That's uncomfortable...

Where you supposed to stack your neckers?... Sack your checkers?.... Back up your wreckers?... Snack on woodpeckers? O well...

I don't think it was any of those, but now I'm hungry for woodpecker.

I arrived at work this morning and I got a call on my cellphone. We're not supposed to take private calls at work, but this one was from (one of) my best friend(s). We never call each other, we only text, so I knew something was going on and I answered it.
He's in Italy on a holiday with his mom and dad. Last night, his dad knocked on his bedroom door, in panic. So he joined him into his parents room at the hotel. His mother didn't feel so good apparently that evening and went to the toilet, where she totally collapsed. Didn't move, didn't breathe. He performed CPR on her while they were waiting for the ambulance. The people from the ambulance also tried to save her for over an hour, but had to give up because she had already past away (probably immediately).
In October, she was gonna turn 51. That's way too young. She didn't have any medical history or anything. *Poof* and she was gone.
She was a beautiful woman and a very supportive mother towards my friend and his sister. I didn't know what to say at the phone, it's like I got knocked in the face with a heavy hammer. They live approx 500m away from me and I'm always at his place and he's often here, so I knew his mom very well. He's in Italy still, with his father. Both heartbroken. They said they won't be leaving without her, but of course it ain't so easy when someone passes away abroad.
Best I can do is be there for him when they get back, I assume. Damn this sucks, this sucks bad.
Sorry fellas, just had to vent here. RIP Nadine, you'll be missed.

You're a Beckerhead, be resourceful!

G-Shark, I am very sorry to hear that. It's very rough. Smoke and prayers going up for you and your friends.

Damn that is rough Gshark. Sorry to hear that bud. Smoke and prayers to you and the family.

Sorry to hear of your lose G.

Just returned from a quick two day camping trip with the family. Got us a little cabin at a park just a few miles down the road from the house. Nice and peaceful.

There may or may not of been a super secret stove prototype that made my coffee of the mornings.

Thanks friends. Just got off the phone with my buddy. He's still shaken but doing a bit better, since he's less in shock at the moment. Doctors say it was a blood clot in the vains that moved its way upto the heart. Very quickly, mostly painless... No one could have foreseen it. Her body will be taken back home on Thursday morning, and my buddy and his father will be coming home by plane on Thursday evening. They haven't made any further arrangements yet, pretty obvious... Rough times for him, rough times.

Looks like a great time, Todd! I really can't complain about this Summer's weather at all.

Todd: Cool pics and cool looking stove.
I agree!

My condolences, G-shark. :(

I've found that pine cones are best when lightly toasted, with a generous slathering of peanut butter.

G-Shark - As well, my prayers and condolences for y'all's loss. It's always tough to loose someone, but especially sad when it is so unexpected. I definitely understand what y'all are going through. Wednesday I have my 3rd funeral in 4 weeks, all older relatives (85,91 and 93), so it hasn't been THAT unexpected.
