This is, from what I've read, totally untrue! Again, based on what I've read, Woodtrekker is stirring up a bunch of B.S.
Apparently, he tried or is trying to start his own website using the word "bushcraft". BCUSA's owners got a trademark or something similar 2 years ago to protect their brand. BCUSA has not issued any cease and desist letters to anyone. Guy, one of the owners of BCUSA, addressed this on their forum. He has a right, IMO, to protect his brand as he sees fit as long as it's legal.
If anyone can name and show evidence that BCUSA has done anything wrong, I'd love to see / hear it.
 
Well we could always compare the "Talon" hole trademark to the Bushcraft word trademark and really get this thread going again :D

Technically its a service mark, not a trademark and it only prevents somone from using the word bushcraft in the name of an online forum. This.doesnt affect.gear or knives in the least. From what I could tell this has been in place for 2 years and.the only reason its coming up now is.woodtrekker or an affiliate tried to start a similarly named forum to run bcusa out of business and found out they couldnt.so.they made a big stink about it. I hate blogs
 
I would totally agree with them trademarking BushcraftUSA, but trademarking Bushcraft is bullcrap. The phrase existed WAY before them, and it was used in business way before them.

Bad idea, I don't like seeing pork cry.

I've let my membership on BCUSA lapse because of the stupidity over there. Not overwhelming stupidity, there's loads of good folks and info there, just more than I'd like to deal with.

Doubtful, now if you had a knife tattoo that said "Bushcraft Blade" on it with a talon hole... Then you would be in for a world of trouble :D

Between the 2, they would probably gain ownership of your entire body.... Just imagine the things they would do to you :eek:
 
Update on the flash light situation, picked up a microstream yesterday and a fenix E12 today, tey are great lights, thanks for the recommendations guys!
