Just strain it through your teeth. It'll be fine. :thumbup:
 
Sheesh, the snark is moving fast today. Does anyone have any tips for good pulled pork? I'd like to make it without BBQ sauce, so I can just add whatever sauce I want on the sandwich.

I usually use a bone-in Boston butt (the bottom of the shoulder, not the "ham"). Rub it with some coarse salt (sea or kosher) and a little liquid smoke. Then cook for 8 or so hours in a crock pot or a cast iron dutch oven in the regular oven set at about 250 degrees. When it's done, I drain off most of the fat, but leave a little fat/juice for flavor. It shreds pretty easily with a fork when it's done, then pile on a bun and top as desired.
 
Went to Wal-mart to get some allergy pills, thought I'd grab a sil-ny tarp while I was there but the camping section was picked over pretty good. They did have the Sog version of that Bros Blades Silent Soldier for $35 but nobody was working the counter so I didn't get one.

And Waldo, my '84 K5, needs new door hinges...
 
Went to Wal-mart to get some allergy pills, thought I'd grab a sil-ny tarp while I was there but the camping section was picked over pretty good. They did have the Sog version of that Bros Blades Silent Soldier for $35 but nobody was working the counter so I didn't get one.

The local Wal-Mart is getting in the Fieldline backpacks again, but now they're sold under the SOG brand.

When I was talking to the former owner of the cabin, he said a guy could sell the granite on the land, and pay for the cabin. Is granite worth that much? There's granite there that has a pinkish color to it.

Probably not worth much. I have pretty low self-worth ;). You could have just asked me directly tho, Dubz.

Also, this is the risk you take when using a bottle opener on a twisty. Unless it's a Ka-Barley, which has the twisty opener opposite the regular one. OR, you could buy good beer, ensuring no twist-off caps ;).

Greg has it about right. I frequently sliver a sweet onion (or two) and sometimes add pineapple juice or brown sugar, but liquid smoke and salt ALWAYS go in. Yeah, and you can just get the Boston butt with no bone. Even easier. In Hawaii you can buy this stuff called Kalua Pig that is just unbelievable, and all it is is pork butts and salt, AFAIK.

Jonny: that is awesome. You have inspired me to make it my mission for the summer to bring your West Coast style to the East Coast.

Looks neat. somebody modded a BK7 that I really liked. Ground the ramp, took down the guard nub between the handle and blade, and softened the transition from spine to clip. I'm going to do that to both my 7 and 10. I might add a finger choil to the 7, not sure yet. Then I'mm gonna put a nice sharp 90 degree spine on both.
