I am surprised that it took so long for someone to finally speak this out. Maybe the lawyer title scared some/most people on this subforum?

LMAO a man of his word. Agreed to a deal, received the item from the other party, and then began to try to change the deal term while NOT shipping his item out? This Jeff dude should be banned IMO (from both BladeForums and the bar association).
All the other lawyers do it.

you have had every opportunity to print a label and bring it down to the reception desk in your apt building.
there is a ups store about a block and a half away

your credibility is shot with me
i don't believe you have my knife and are stalling.

i would accept $750 via postal money order overnight

If you read all the messages is important to highlight all the excuses the buyer is giving....

1) Divorce
2) In las Vegas for business
3) Got into a little accident
4) Family member is in the hospital

And now is offering $50 less than the original price...Idk but something is not right here.

Looks to me like any of his personal problems or whatever problem there might be, he expects you to bare them and be taxed for do so. I really hate it when someone takes advantage of a situation and especially a created one.

If he has any friends, IF, maybe he could call upon them to take your knife to the postal annex. Otherwise you take a $50 loss on the deal just to get him out of your hair.

something about teeth
stuck all day mediation

and I'm the one whining and crying

would you trust a lawyer that has threatened to sue you with anything but a cash payout?
He clearly has some weird aversion to the post office. If you want your money in a timely manner, or at all for that matter, asking for him to send it via post office isnt the brightest idea. That’s what this entire thread is about, him not wanting to go to the post office. So yes, I’d take a Zelle or PayPal payment and be done with it.

I’m still dealing with that emergency with my kids. It would help not to have to leave to go to the postal annex. Can I PayPal or Zelle or whatever way you want $550?

“Man of his word”. He wants the damn knife but doesn’t want to give what he agreed to, or offer a fair cash price.

My kids are all in the hospital, car broke down down the street, I needed fresh draws…. LMAO

Looks like somebody earned himself a black ball out of the deal.

Polite communication has broken down, respect has been tossed out the window, and most likely it’s vindictive behavior that is preventing the knife’s return or compensation to the rightful owner.

in his mind he has made me out as some evil person that doesn't care about his daughter or divorce or accident or tooth replacement or or, or, or,(all excuses/problems he has shared while trying to do this deal.

i was the guy that said no. this guy doesnt like being told no, so now i have to pay.

the only harm i have done this man is send him a knife he asked for , and then ask that he return it when it did not meet his standards i have offered to pay return postage.

You valued it at $600 in your texts. I found the retail price at $500 so I split the difference. That is more than fair. If you want the knives I have, we can do that instead. I’ll have to send them tomorrow
