Grizzlies are no longer eligible for hunting in BC which is insane but politics overrule science I guess....

MC is a good backup bit need to swedge that thing somehow

At some point their population increase will tilt toward hunting for the purpose of conservation. As pure bred polar bears will most likely go extinct, the grizzly-polar hybrids will probably increase in numbers. I have no issues with legit hunting of legal adult bear, during bear hunting seasons, for the purposes of sustenance and population control... Self-defense at any given time, goes without saying.

PS. if/when things clam down a bit, Josh of Razor Edge Knives ought to be able to do a very respectable swedge job for you. He's no Nathan but I think that Nathan has seen Josh's work and I have yet to see Nathan disagreeing with Josh's mods. YMMV.

100%. Lots of people carry bear spray but don’t think about wind or anything like that. Maybe the mantra “bowies for bears” will make @Nathan the Machinist throw a swedge option on these!
Hahaha (as I laugh ahead of the copy and past anti bowie text*)

Just edited my post by adding about the swedge part.

Bear spray as the only line of defense is just insane against browns/grizzlies... Maybe the much smaller black bears but I've seen some gnarly big black bears too which you won't wanna cross path with inadvertently.

I just don't condone the kind of assholery by the asshole so-called hunters who also give legit and conscientious hunters a terrible name too.

To be real about this, a good dog (and I mean a GOOD dog) is worth more than and spray, steel, or blaster.

I am sure that Josh will be able to do a good sharpened to the back of the tip job for you. I haven't followed him that much since he was getting more into offering his own line of knives so don't even know if he does mods! Plus he's in the U.S (SC?) so that may not even work out for you sending knives back and forth.

Where do I get one?

I got mine from a knife maker/shop in Canada (Elson Knives) but I'm sure you can find it more readily in the US :) I just wish I picked up a couple more to save on the shipping but I wanted to test them out before buying a bunch. So far, I'm really liking them and, depending on the pair of pants/pocket, my FK2 can be completely hidden.

I tried wearing it IWB but it felt super sketchy resheathing the knife.

Also look at Discreet Carry Concepts. The best clips I have ever used

How is the retention?

The retention on the Ulticlips is insane. Like actually. Even without locking the lever, the clip already holds on very tight and takes effort to remove from my pants. Once you lock it down, it isn't going ANYWHERE. After almost losing my HDFK, I'm super paranoid of it happening again.

Btw, this is the clip that came off my belt. I sat on a fallen tree and my HDFK must have hit the log tip-down, which pushed it up and off my belt. I didn't even feel it come off as this was in the winter and I was wearing all kinds of gear/clothing. I just happened to look behind the log and see it half buried in the snow.

fatfrog fatfrog retention is phenomenal. Have had the same one on for a year and a half I think and still zero issue. Every single day in the pocket and draw it probably 50-100 times a day never pulls out of the pocket.
I'll second this, use mine everyday very often and in 6 months have never had an issue with it coming loose. It can actually be a little tricky to take off

Took the HDMC out for a spin today.
Chopped down a small dead tree, a couple little live ones and removed a few limbs that were looking at me funny.
What a joy it was to use!
Definitely on par with my BC. I couldn’t say which bites deeper, as I haven’t run them side by side. A lot of fun either way.
