Did you baton the stuff in that last picture Luke? The grain looks wicked, especially if that's hard wood.

I was gonna guess elm from the bark and the less than agreeable grain.

Not 100% sure, found it on the side of the road. Think it's Yellow Box. Hopefully will score a LC this sale

Yep I batoned some of it with the FK, what I could. Used my SR Rucki for the rest. Very tough stuff, not seasoned either!

Btw, the FK has laughed at everything I have thrown at it so far. I LOVE this knife :thumbup:

I can well believe it's tough wood. Glad to see the FK eating through it. Nice to hear the rucki is getting some love, too.

Thanks for the compliments! Nathan's potato knife has earned its keep in my kitchen knife block. Now if I could get him to make an entire kitchen knife set id be satisfied!
