I think that’s how the standard black ones look after getting some oil on them, rinse and repeat (mine look similar). AFAIK, CPK only made black, natural, OD Green and wood ?

Ok, good to know. Yeah, those were the only handle colors that I recall. Interesting how much the black ones change color.

I'm about to have the same dilemma. I'll probably end up bringing a rubbermaid full of CPKs and another Rubbermaid of other stuff, a 'hawk and a couple axes. But I'm worried that might not be enough for a week-long trip....

You can never have too many! If I could only bring one, the FK2 is still my champion.

FK2 is pretty tough to beat. I don't know if I like it more than my SSDFK though. Haven't been able to decide yet.

Not all of us are fortunate enough to have an HDFK.....or two or three......Split the difference and bring the HDFK.

I didn't mean you specifically. Just joking about how some members have duplicates. I actually missed out on buying two hdfks in a single sale post a while back.
