I got out in the woods for a couple hours as well today. I was working in less than tropical conditions to get a fire started, it's been raining for days in central PA.

I used up every. single. piece. of fire starting equipment in my pack: burned up the remaining fuel in a lighter, used a bag of dryer lint, some leftover beech leaves and birch bark from another trip, a whole pack of stormproof matches, a tin of charcoal, some tea bags, and an entire tube of antibiotic ointment from my first aid kit 🤣.

The damn thing still wouldn't burn!

Fortunately it wasn't too cold. Love this spot by the creek

By using the HDFK to split 5 inch rounds down to their dry center, I eventually got it going

Warmed up some delicious soup

I'm loving this blade, it was great getting to break it in. Thanks again to the member that traded it to me recently!

Those sandwiches look delicious. I've always loved following along with your posts, with your job you must be one of the most frequent/hardest CPK users out there!
