Pics of Pairs--Large and Small Versions of the Same Model

Corey,

Can you tell me by chance how the S30V (or I guess it is S35V now) in the Sebenzas holds up compared to the M390 in my Ritter Griptillian. Reason I ask is I think I have found "MY STEEL" in the M390 but will be getting a Sebenza and hope to actually use it a lot. I'm not stuck on Sebenza I could go for another fat Ti handled, higher price range knife with a M390 blade as long as it is heat treated like my Grip. Love that blade in use ! ! ! ! Love it ! ! !

I wish I could give you some info there, but my Sebenzas have just been safe queens, I think I may have cut some tape a couple times with one lol. Honestly I don't even think I've put any of my M390 blades to much use either. The knives I typically use have 154CM or D2. I need to open up my carry rotation a bit and try out more of the exotic steels to see if I find one I like better, but for now I'm just a steel rookie.

Kizer GTi & GTi-Mini

Those Kizers look pretty cool, never seen those before, thanks for sharing the pic.

An old Opinel shop display I have with a #1 & #13. No grinds!

Thats awesome. I wonder if the Giant 13 is glue mounted?

All the knives in this thread are very nice. Pic worthy.

The spring comes out of the Barrage very easily, Corey, and IMHO the knife opens and closes so much better without it. You also don't have to open it two-handed or against your leg if you're somewhere you don't want to hear the usual "Is that legal?" I de-assisted and did a few other mods to my 581 but left my Mini alone. It was a Christmas gift from my wife and I decided to leave it stock. I'll put those two up here later.

Whats the level of difficulty in 're-assisting' the deassisted knife?

I don't expect it would be any more difficult than de-assisting. If you can dis- and re-assemble an Axis knife, the lock and spring are just another couple parts to deal with. There are Benchmade breakdown/assembly videos online. Here's a pic I leeched off a Reddit post of a 581 knocked down. You can see the coil-spring that fits into a recess on one side of the pivot.

Some knives have coil springs, some have lever-type, single-leaf springs

Now, back on track, I'll pull a bit of a stretch myself, these 2 look similar enough to me....Lone Wolf LM17800 & 13300.

I didn't think I had such a pairing, but Corey's great pics jogged my memory. I have an unmatched small & medium of Blackie Collins' Rollox design. Made by Benchmark, but the small is labelled Gerber due to timing of the takeover.

Cue the music (or derisive laugh) track. It's nowhere on my favorite tune list, but these are two of my favorite knives. I picked these up 'cause I like the Axis lock so much--Manix 2 and Manix XL. It takes some time to break in those Spyderco CBBLs, but they work great once they loosen up.

I like that pair, Joe--glad you posted it here! Are you getting the same skins for the little guy?
