Pics of Pairs--Large and Small Versions of the Same Model

Seeing Professor's post got me wondering if I had any gun pairings, and sure enough I found some. Would've been nice to have a couple HKs to match the knives, but the FNs will do just fine :) (I think I'm just as much of a FN fanboy as I am a BM fanboy :p)

I know, it's a stretch and kinda silly, but my OCD is ramped up and I gotta at least finish out the week with my Theme of the Day thing.

Today's pics are actually a reprise of the OP--a 710/705 pairing, but with a new 705. Corey PM'd me that he had the satin, plain-edge 705 I was looking for to match my old 710, we made a deal, and I got the knife yesterday. Took the pair to the job today and shot a couple pics.

^ChazzyP,

Funny how times change. I carried that pair to Europe in 1999. Had the 705 in my pocket and the 710 in my checked luggage. TSA complimented me on the 705 going through security. Nice pair, Sir. Brings back memories - they were both released by BM in that timeframe. Both of mine were either pre-pro's or first pro's. Fell in love with the Axis lock then and the honeymoon isn't quite over.

Well, you're certainly right about changing times, Professor. The thought of carrying a blade on a flight in this day and age is mind boggling. When we fly, I won't put anything but a cheaper knife that I have no sentimental attachment to in my checked bag, so I won't go nuts if it ends up in the pocket of some unscrupulous baggage checker. When I brought the WC UltraLight I bought in Barcelona home, I wrapped it up and buried it in in the middle of my shaving kit. I tore my bag apart as soon as I got home to make sure I still had it. Sometimes it seems the more security there is, the less secure we feel.

Nice Insingo pair, Kalsu! I've been interested in that blade shape for a while. Do you find it useful?

My Sebs all have regular blades. If I get one it'll be a large and I'll have to decide between the Knife Art CF or Micarta inlays like yours. Yours are very appealing.

Thank you. I really like the blade shape. They both get carried frequently. The large gets carried more, but I have always preferred the large Sebenza over the small. That's just me though.

I think I'm out of pairs!!!
COREY...........I need a 765, a mini 760, a mini 530........

I was hoping I could dig through my collection and find something similar enough to say BAM here it is haha, but I think you got me with those.. I had a small Bradley Alias that might've passed as a mini 761, but I recently sold it. I'm sure I can still scrounge up a couple more pairs to share later.

Super sweet Elgin!! Love those bad boys!

Thanks Joe! The Jr is my all time favorite pattern, so I figured I should pick up a couple full size ones to go with them. They feel giant compared to the Jr's, but they are great, and super handy.

gonna post black handled knives. I'm mostly a jazz guy, but you gotta love the Dan.

Here's another Military/ParaMilitary2 pair. The Para is my first one and the Millie is my son's. I asked K this morning if he would bring it by for a photo op. I was horrified as it seemed it had half the sand on the Cape in it. I just finished cleaning, polishing the washers & tang, and lubing it. No sand, though, just a lot of corrosion on the washers. If you use 'em down here in this salty humid air, anything that's not lubed and protected gets crudded up pretty fast.

K's knife has a bit of a story. He had admired my black and camo Millie and I found a brand new one just like it on Amazon for a stupidly low price, so it became his Christmas gift. I never took it out of the box, just wrapped it up, and when he opened it out popped the one you see. He loved it and didn't want to return it, so I wrote the (non-knife) Marketplace seller and sent a pic. They very generously refunded $35 bucks, which I gave to K. Would that they all came that cheap.

Wow--not gonna miss those two, stbob, and the color matches your username! Not exactly stealth….

I wasn't familiar with Piranhas, so I went to their website. Those are an X and a Virus, right? I really like the blade shapes.
