Pictures of Kershaw knives

Hi Vassili, not sure what you mean by this, can you expand?

Simple, before - we got best steel as soon as it gets available and everybody were using it (CPM 440V for example). But last one was ZDP189 and it was only Willaim Henry and Spyderco and Kershaw using it in US. Now CPM S90V - only Spyderco and it seems they will not continue with it as well as nobody else start using it - like Kershaw - I am not aware of any new models with CPM S90V from Kershaw.

And it seems like only Fantoni start making CPM S125V while Spyderco refuse to work with it.

Most of the knife industry in US choose D2 as a super steel or CPM S30V as best.

Again I can not blame Kershaw for not working with new super-steels like CPM S90V and CPM S125V or SRS15 or YTXR7 etc... while everybody else presenting D2 as a top premium best choice for the customers etc...

Thanks, Vassili.

Well, in short I want new super steel! I want more CPM S90V and CPM S125V and SRS15 and YXR7 and CPM 10V etc etc etc.

Thanks, Vassili.

Most all of us do Vassili. We just have to give Kershaw time.
They(Kershaw) have so much on the table as it is. I'm breaking
my wallet trying to keep up with what's on the table so I know
Kershaw has to be busting there @$$es pumping out all these
great knives we have come to appreciate.

And I hope the above trend to always express personal opinion as fact by some posters in these forums will soon end...

Also, IMO any knife manufacturer that plans to stay in business for the long haul is not making their steel choices based on the preferences of a small subset of users but on the basis of the overall market and the very real need to turn a profit...

Ray :)

Well said Ray.

Hi all, my first post and a knife noob here. I just got myself a Storm recently and am currently considering the ZT 0301. I know that the 301 is much larger (and heavier) compared to the Storm, but by how much? Much appreciate if anyone here with these 2 knives can post of pic of both along side each other for me to get an idea of the size difference between them? Thanks much.

just to alleviate some concern, I do also keep normal, unaltered knives.

IMHO this is looser mentality - came with excuse not to do something instead of looking for the way to deviver high quality and low prices. Which Kershaw is doing for last years.

This is common looser idea - came up with fake dilemma like "Ether it will be quality or low price" and then came up with "logical" conclusion - lets keep low prices for our customers (meaning lets give up quality).

Now if you investigates this it will turns out that one piece is missing and real alternative if "We will do quality and low prices and we have to move our butts" and real conclusion is "To keep us not moving our butts we will give up quality and lower price" while it should be "Lets start working for salary we are payed and make it both high quality and low price". This is generic situation I observes for years in different places. And this is why less and less things are made in US but in China.

Only way to stay in business work hard! And Kershaw is working hard so far and this is why it is on top in US market! And this is why I like it so much.

Thanks, Vassili.

P.S. Of course everything is just my opinion.

P.S.S. To see my point check how Kershaw start raising with new steels and models etc and how Camillus fail in same time.

What???? I can't even think of response to this, and no, it's not because I'm a "looser" who doesn't understand it. What's with all the animosity here? You hijacked your OWN thread just to make attacks? I'm sorry, but it's lost on me.

Can we get back to pictures on this thread now please?

Well I make comment on CPM S60V and then answer ThomasW direct question. Then I make comment on reholli post - I saw something like this many times here and pretty upset when somebody trying to slow down Kershaw with this mentality.

So, if you are so against hijacking threads - do not hijack them. Try to make nice picture and post them here.

Thanks, Vassili.

Umm, I just did. In fact the picture is part of your last post.;)

It's getting late, so I'm off to bed. We can post more pics tomorrow:cool:

Cheers,
Jon

Wow, is that bottom one the Tyrade they did in coordination with the Orange County Chopper guys? I saw it from afar in a video and thought it looked kinda goofy but up close... ostentatious, but in a good way!

If you don't mind my asking Jon, what are the two above it? I really like the way the pic shows off the texturing on the middle one.

Zindaras,
Welcome to the forums. The OCC knife isn't a Tyrade, it's a Blur, and yes, most pictures don't do it any justice. This knife needs to be seen and held to be appreciated. The raised web pattern gives a nice amount of grip when in the hand.

The knife right above the Blur with the textured FRN handle is the OSO Sweet, an assisted opening folder and a great little knife for the price. Excellent value and quality.

The top knife is the one you just cannot afford to miss. The new Kershaw RAM designed by Grant and Gavin Hawk. It's a flipper that opens with a real distinctive authority. It has a new, innovative lock design, is easy to use, sharp as heck, smooth as silk pivot action, and feels great in the hand. The G-10 overlay provides excellent grip as well. I'd make the RAM the priority purchase of the three, but they are all Kershaws, and thus are all excellent!!:D

Hope you enjoy the Kershaw forum,

Cheers,
Jon

After a year I finally sharpened my two Cyclones TiZDP. It require to grind a bit thumb-studs and I did it without any problem on the same DMT D8XX. I think it turns out pretty well.

Thanks, Vassili.

Thanks for the welcome, Jon! I've also heard great things about the RAM, it looks like a really fun and powerful knife. I'd been debating about whether to get it or a shallot, but based on the legality of SpeedSafe in NYC which Tom was kind enough to give the last word on, I'll be hedging my bets and getting a Shallot instead, with the AO safely turned off. The awesome folks over here helped me to make the decision, and I look forward to posting about a zillion pictures of my so-fine blade as soon as I'm able to get my hands on it! :D :D :D

Zindaras, please note that the Shallot does not come with a SpeedSafe "on/off" switch. The Cyclones, both full-sized and mini, have the SpeedSafe switch. The Shallot's SpeedSafe is always on, unless you take the knife apart and remove the torsion bar. Then it functions as a manual flipper.

MX3, nice! I should have the pass-around MUDD in a few days. And to Secret 77, WOW! That's a great set-up! Whats the name of the knot in the lanyard?

Many thanks to Thomas for this great knife!

I will make another thread about this knife and take some better pictures as soon as I can.
(Borrowed this camera for a short while but the battery got empty before I was able to make better pictures.

BTW: this knife looks even better in person than on any picture I've seen of it so far!
