Unwin Rodgers Saloon Pistol Gun Knife repro:
Two slip joint blades with cowboys panning for gold mosaic damascus scenes, the same damascus is used for the bolsters, ebony handles with silver studs, twist damascus barrel with gold inlays, hidden cap and ball box in rear of handle, engraving on hammer and handle case, D-2 gun internals, folding hammer and trigger mechanism .32 cal. cap and ball blackpowder, dark walnut presentation case(not shown).
These pistol/knife combos are very difficult and Ron has done an outstanding job on this one.
ddushane, sorry about not answering when you posted. Ron would be a great person to contact about the pistol/knife combos. He has collected a few of the originals so that he could check out the mechanisms. If you want his contact info shoot me an email.

Awesome thread...Ron is one of the high precision smiths that's putting out mind blowing knives.
He was very open and helpful to me with information at last year's Blade Show. I believe that bowie with the clam-shell guard is the one he used to show me some construction techniques. Beautiful lines and stunning fit and finish.
Very glad to see so many of Ron's knives up here so that people can see them so readily! Thanks Ron and Keith!!!

You're a real gentleman. Thanks. Didn't know if you remembered me from the Blade show last year. I still remember the impact you made on me with the knives you had in Atlanta last year. Been hearing and seeing lots of good things about you lately.

Ron, it has been a real pleasure to share these pictures with everyone at BladeForums. I hope to be able to add more hotos to this thread in the future.
I can hardly wait until I get to start posting pictures of the Bowies that I have on order with Ron. I am hoping that Ron will supply me with photos of the whole process that goes into making the knives and I will be able to share them with everyone.

Here are some pictures of another great knife from Ron.
Ron just finished an order for a local surgeon. His wife orderded him a trick function auto with a turkey hunting theme. There are several wild turkey gobblers running throughout the blade steel which is O-1 and 15N-20. Spring turkey season is a bid thing in Arkansas. The long beard, big spurred turkey gobblers are highly sought after. In close up form you can see the long beards and big spurs on each turkey in the gunblued blade steel.
The blade is 3" with an opened length of 7" and closed length of 4". Handle frames are gunblued nickel damascus with 24 kt. gold wire inlays and premium stag scales. One of the front bolsters has 24 kt. gold inlayed turkey tracks. Lockback function with hidden trick blade release.

Here is a wonderful little hunter from Ron.
O1 and 15n20 ladder pattern damscus hunter with some knock your socks off cherry died popcorn stag. This is some very old stag Ron just couldn't resist buying because of all the popcorn nodules on both scales. The cherry die gave it a dark, rich tone. 3.5" blade, nickel silver guard, 8- 1/8" overall length.
Here is the other side.
This knife is less ornate than many of the ones created by Ron, but it is one of my favorites.

Time for another magnificent folder.
Nitre blued blade mosaic damascus steel is O1 and 15n20 with an "Aussie Fern" pattern. Ron made the steel but gives credit to Steve Fillicietti for sharing a different way he stacks up metal layers to make the finger or fern like appearance. Steve and Ron did some technique sharing last September in Ron's shop.
The spine is O1 that has been gold nugget carved and electrically gold washed in 24 kt. gold. Liners are fileworked, blue anodized titanium. Stainless screws and fileworked thumbstud. Manual liner lock.

Time to post some pictures of a Bowie that Ron made recently. I really like carver stag handles on a Bowie.
This Bowie was built for Blade. It has an 11 1/2" 6150 vanadium alloyed steel blade and an overall length of 18".
I love the triple groved ferrule and coin edged guard.
Ahhhh...stag, my favorite.
That's a nice ricasso wrap w/ oak leaves & acorns engraving as can can be seen on one of the above pictures.

Here is something you will rarely see from Ron, a stock removal knife.
It is a beautiful boot knife.
It has a 4.25 inch hand rubbed satin finished S90V flat ground blade and a coined edge nickel silver guard.
The sheath is teflon lined nickel silver. The handle is hand carved blue mammoth ivory with three nickel silver pins.
This is another absolutely outstanding knife.

I can't ever seem to find the right words to convey my appreciation for Ron's knives. I think the pictures speak for themselves.

Photoshop! It's almost like cheating.
