Pictures of Ron Newton knives.

Here is a new hunter model that is going to debut at the Solvang show. It is a 3-3/4", 1084 clip point blade hunter, premium India Stag, engraved 416 Stainless guard.

I will not be renewing my membership to FotoTime, so in the next few days many of these pictures are going to disappear. I have transferred all my pictures to a file and will change all the ones that disappear to attachments. This may take me a little while. Sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause.

The last one that Ron made to take to Solvang.
A front-lock folder, antique repro. Solid sterling silver bolsters. Brown mammoth ivory, coin edge bronze liners, and a 4-1/4" clip point mosaic damascus blade.

This knife was sole authored by Ron - 3 3/4" double ground Mosaic Damascus made of Newton forged 15N-20 & 1084 high carbon steel. Laddered "W" pattern, gun blued with multiple colors. The bottom frame of the handle is gun blued and French Grey engraved 15N-20 high carbon steel. The top overlay is 6AL4V Titanium with running leaf engraving and colorful Gold Lip Pearl picture window inlays. The latch release is gun blued high carbon steel w/ solid 24KT gold inlay.

Folks,

This one was mentioned on the last page. I had the pleasure of working with Ron and this great folder myself.

Ron shows that he can be dead serious about quality, and yet he has a whimsical side to him as well. I like it!

Well, I got all the pictures back up. I really want to thank Gabe Newell for supplying me with server space on which I can store my knife photos. Gabe, what you have done is very much appreciated.

For those that don't check out the other thread I have going about my Newton bowie I thought I would also post the pictures of my knife here.

As you can would probably guess, I am thrilled with the look of this knife. Ron just has to finish the sharpening and he has to make the sheath, then he will be sending me this beauty.

Keith,

Wow... Congrats, this is outstanding. When you get it, can you take a picture of the damascus patern on the ferrule from above? I'm curious has to how this was done.

Thanks for sharing, and congratulations.

Here's a gorgeous mosaic damascus Newton spear point hunter with beautiful engraving and fabulous amber stag handle (hint - it's the one in the middle). As you can see, the knife keeps good company (Zowada above, Dean below). All knives belong to Peter (PTGDVC) who has made it his ambition to take over the world..... I mean.... corner the market on gorgeous stag knives. ;) :D

Wow.... Those 3 are sure nice. I must say, the Dean is my favorite in this line up.

That Dean is great. Roger, do you know what the name of the mosaic pattern is on that hunter by Ron? It kind of looks like ferns.

Alright now guys, I'm getting very interested in Rons work.

Can't wait to see the Newton Bowie Keith.

Ron, very nice execution on all your handmades. Congrats. How did you stay off my radar screen this long?

Hi Keith,

No, I don't know the name, though fern does seem appropriately descriptive. Perhaps Peter will know. Here's a closer look at the pattern in one of Ron's "work-in-progress" pics, with which you are very familiar:

Keith,

The name for that damascus pattern is "Whitewater". Basically because my goofy eyeballs see rapids breaking over boulders, surrounded back currents and eddys. Ron Newton informed me that he usually goes along with whatever crazy thing that the customer imagines that he sees in the pattern. ;)

Best,
Peter

Wow, I stay away from this thread for a bit and amazing knives pop up.
Keith, your knife is spectacular!! Roger, as usual some of the best, that piece of Damascus is awesomw!

Ron is such a good craftsman, always moving ahead.
