Did someone say "Churchwarden?" :D

With a 9" stem, this Roma gives a wonderfully cool, smooth smoke:

Those Churchwardens are great pipes, aren´t they. I just know them for the cheap porcellan pipes you can get at tobacco stores for trying different types of tobacco without ruin your favorite pipe with some strange taste or even crossover.

I have to try one made of wood someday...

Thanks so much for posting this particular photo. It reminds me so much of my father. The Case, the canteen coffee cup, and if that's Carter Hall tobacco in that pipe I would swear that you had stolen that picture from my own memory - except for the QCC (?)... Dad is a Case knife man, no substitutes.

Looks more like Petes famous big boker congress than a QCC :)

Boker would have been my next uneducated guess! Thanks for the info.

Made myself look all knowledgeable and clever... But it's only because it's one of Petes favourites and he has posted it many times :)

Maybe not quite a "traditional" knife, so if this inappropriate for this thread I'll apologize in advance and promise to retake with a more suitable knife. I rescaled the little Boker Nano with some Tulipwood from a family member's stash.
A secondary reason for posting this particular smoke is that you can see it is a tad on the dry side. Is it salvageable with proper humidification?

Anyone that's as much of a congress fan as you could tell the pedigree of that one :D

Thanks for the compliments Flyboy

Great pics guys

SH, you definitely have some of the very best fixed-blades on the forum! :)

That was a happy time here Pete, I do miss Elliot :)

I can't speak for Elliot Jack other than he's a great guy, but as for myself, when I only had the one little one and lived in my old place I had a lot of down time to spend with the forum and enjoyed contributing, now with 2 little ones 1 & 3 I am busy with them and any time that I'm on the forum is if they don't require my attention, and with my new place I always have something to tinker with, fix, make etc. summer I was outside most of the day working taking care of things, processing down trees, I use a bow saw and axe, basically as a means to stay in shape, chainsaw would be too easy :-), digging trenches for the spring thaw, which after this winter I don't think the trenches will do any good with 5-6' of snow I have now and another 1-2' coming later on today, the winter has been a battle keeping my driveway clear it's a bit shy of 300' my 7 roofs clear of snow and ice dams, plus vents, paths to propane tank and the generator which also wouldn't start so I needed to fix that, which was easy but with temps averaging -9°F to -27° can't afford to have it out of commission. I miss a lot of the past members like Jon Slider, Elliot ( Blue), Doug Add, Griff ( Zippofan) and others but I just assume that life has taken over as it has for myself, I sort of pop in post, and I'm off to do something, I try to look each day if a can, posting is sporadic, I love keeping busy and wouldn't have it any other way, but always have folks like you, Paul Hilborn, Gevonovich, Sarah ( Pertinux ), Paul ( pmew ), Jacktrades nbk, Flint Hills and others in my thoughts.
Heck I didn't even have time to smoke that pipe yesterday, I don't smoke around my girls, and right after I packed it they awoke so I am having it now.

Pete

Thanks for a great post Pete, I'm very happy for you my friend :)

Thanks, Jack! That Kephart is one of my favorites. It will do just about everything one could ask of it.

I'm sure, really great lines  Always a pleasure to see :)
