• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

Pit impressed with Mora !!!!

Easy. They use fast assembly line methods to make these suckers. The blanks are stamp cut, probably in 4-6 layers to save time and money. They are not full tang, they uses robots to grind & finish the blades and the plastic handle is the quintessential shortcut. The key is that once they got the steel type , blade profile and grind just 'so' it then just becomes a cookie cutter process :D Oh! No fancy packaging advertising or many returns for warranty repair help keep the prices down. They may also be subsidized as in Swedish Government Subsidized ;)

i still dont understand how mora can afford to put out such great knives with single-digit prices

People who have been on here a while will know that I often have cheap cracks at Mora's. Truth be told Pit Jr and myself do often use a Mora for cutting up fish and stuff but I have never really tried it when it's been real sharp !
Anyways I thought that I would get the Mora shaving sharp and then compare it to a couple of my other bushcraft type blades.
I tested them all at various wood whittling tasks and I have to be honest and say that I was really impressed with the little Mora:eek:!!! My Koster Nessie still kicked it's butt, although not by much, but it out cut my Temperance !
Anyway here are pics of the knives next to the fuzz sticks they made.....

So I guess I'm eating a little humble pie as those Mora's can really cut. I would stil not trust carrying one as my only fixed blade but with how little they weigh, they are perfect for tossing in the pack as a back-up blade or even to use for all those finer cutting tasks !!!;)
What's that cleaver looking knife with the micarta grips?

Everybody should have a couple of Moras! I've got my share of friends and relations who aren't very knife-aware, and Moras make great loaners. The guy who asks to borrow my knife is always eying up the nicest one. Fool me twice? No way! Here's a Mora...and a free bump.

Best $11 I ever spent! I use the heck out of mine.

Moras might be "throw away" knives in Sweden , but I'm keeping mine!

They can be used hard & still be able to do some finer work:

And they'll continue writing it forever, just because...
