Posts blocked, searches blocked. Not seeing a lot of new posts in the forums these days. No point in trying to post or reply in threads when what you write may be wasted effort.

Happened while trying to quote somebody in the BK&T Forum.
 
Getting sick of the DotDefender BS. Never seen it until today and the damn thing keeps kicking me out. I have to close my browser each time and start over. Quite annoying. :mad:


ETA: Also started getting this error message today when trying to view my post areas - Error: connection to localhost:9312 failed (errno=111, msg=Connection refused)

Happened to me two days ago.

I refreshed the page multiple times and each came with a new serial code. Like that matters.

Closed out, logged in again in 15 minutes, and haven't seen it since. Fingers crossed.

Same thing happened to me at 12:45. Didn't record the reference number. It isn't doing it now though.
 
There are tens of thousands of reports of DotDefender blocking access to many different sites over several years - like us, people just trying to log on a site they had been routinely able to access.
 
I am having trouble with something called Dotdefender. I am unable to post because of this.
 
For example, I just tried to post in Community Center (it happens in all threads, though) and I keep getting something like:

:( i got blocked this morning. the crappy message saying i'd been blocked by dot defender told me to report it to you, but it did not let me thru to do so or indicate an email address to send the report to you.

i had to reboot my router, clear my browser cache and cookies, flush my dns cache. too pissed off to write down the code the darn dottydefender thing spat at me, which varies each time it smacks you. i'll write it down the next time it happens.

seems to have a LOT of false positives, must be a terrible solution to whatever problem you have, what criteria, if any does it use to decide to block someone?

what is needed is a defence against dottydefender attacks on members. i tried searching to see what was going on & dotdefender blocked those sites too! seems it leaves a cookie on my pc or something that other sites see if one blocks, they all block. poo.

googling dotdefender brings up hundreds of people blocked for no apparent reason on many sites, and no suggestions on how to keep from being blocked or why people get blocked for no reason. if you had to pay for this software, you got took. :( grrr...!

This is the second time this has happened to me. I tried getting on here this morn and kept getting denied access. This would pop up. "Dotdefender denied your http request" or something like that, I did't write the exact words down. I waited an hour and now I have access. What causes this and what can I do to fix??
