Please report DotDefender related problems here

I was blocked this morning as well. Does this have to do with a spy or malware on my laptop that I need to get rid of or is it on blade forums end
 
I don't know who this dotdefender is, but after seeing the Sony hack in the news, I suspect it's an inside job by a disgruntled BFC associate. :D

This is driving everyone nuts. When you can't log onto the site, check BFC's Facebook wall to see if others are also having the same problem. You don't have to have a FB account or have to log on to FB to see this. It can give you peace of might that the trouble isn't on your end.

ddefender comes up on every page from main access to individual forums and pm's I'll check back in a week and see if anything has changed.
 
I'm on BF quite a bit and I haven't been dotDefended yet. I guess it isn't happening to everyone?

you have nothing to fear, fellow mech, unless you are human.

as far as i can find out, it has nothing to do with what is on your personal PC, it trips on the forum server, where dotty is installed by an unsuspecting human, when heuristics feel you are a threat, or if your IP address is suspect, possibly if you have too many connections to the forum open. internet explorer can have up to 10 connections, firefox defaults to 8, but many 'speed up' utils up these. dottydefender may be taking the number of connections from the same IP address as an attack.

i've cut my connections per server & persistant connections per server in half to see if that helps shield me from the AI mechs of the dottyd.

I spoke too soon. I was just blocked from any page, multiple codes. I quit and then restarted Safari (iOS), and here I be.

Have encountered in DD the last 2 days. Here today a few notices - I was already on the forum and just tried to back link to the same sub forum after reading another thread. Then I tried to go to Tech support forum and receive another message. Had to wait 5 minutes or so before I was allowed back on to BladeForum.

I currently can't access anything on the forum at all when I'm on any of 4 Comcast connections in SW Washington or Portland Oregon area. It appears that instead of blocking a single IP for bad behavior it has blocked an entire subnet.

dotDefender is a web based application from Edge Hosting. From what I can gather, it's purpose is to deny infiltration attacks. Sounds like something has gotten some grit in the gears and it is treating legitimate queries and postings as attacks causing access to be denied.

I started encountering the dotDefender problems about the same time searches started failing.
 
I just got blocked in the custom knives for sale section trying to post a new thread to sell a few.
This is the error message it gave me:

Says dotdefender blocked my request. Any options??
