Photos Pocket Fixed Blades

Pocket Persian number 2. This one in vintage canvas micarta and forged carbon fiber that I was told came from a sports car (can't remember which one, but the dude I got it from said it was a cuttoff from an Italian). The CF is very dense with zero voids. Steel is S90V, blade length is 2.75 inches. Pocket clip leather sheath.

Thanks for giving me the reverse position carry idea...
I have been experimenting with reverse and forward carry in the right and left pockets. Currently, I am trying left pocket with the edge forward, aka reverse carry. The sheath I have allows experimenting because it is ambidextrous.

Got one water buffalo sheath done today:

Used brown veg tanned leather for the welt and veg tanned water tralite leather for the side panels. Black Tokonole for the burnishing process to help hide the 2 different shades of brown with the water buffalo and regular brown dyed leather.
Great job! It’s difficult to get good edges on that water buffalo. I use to make a similar knife I called The Vaquero Ultralite.

Thanks! Got 2 more of the sheaths done today, but ruined 2 sheaths, so I still have one to go! Chisel prong punch bent and I didn't realize it until I had a really far off line hole show up on the next group of holes! The water buffalo kinda discolors when using the punches and awls (looks lighter color wise), so the lighter color threads I used didn't give as much contrast.

The black Tokonole works nicely to burnish the water buffalo and also hide the differences between the water buffalo and veg tan cow leather for the welt. I go to 320 on the belt sander, then 320 and 600 by hand with sandpaper on a cork block, then burnish, then the Tokonole and burnish again. I'm just glad I found something to use the thicker damascus piece on! Figured these would be nice and flat and with the drilling and grinding, lightened them up a lot! The holes give a spot to grip when drawing them from the sheaths, too.

Very nice👌

Made myself a new pocket knife. This one is 80CrV2 at 61HRC with an epoxy handle and white G10 liners, green G10 pin and stainless tube. It's about 7" overall length. I could point out flaws but I'll leave that to the viewers here. Every flaw is another reason to make a better one. I suspect the epoxy will get scratched easily but it looks good when new.

Nice job...... I'd carry that...👍

That would be a good small carry, at overall 7 inches would be a good grip. I think a four finger grip is a must unless the handle is made to be comfortable, all too often a small blade lacks a good handle where it is comfy and maneuverable in different grips.
