Sure, we all go through the motions when we first buy a new knife. We admire it, baby it a little (or a lot,) and carry it every day to get the feel for it. In short, our new blades become our EDC
for a while.
But
What knife finds its way into your pocket the most? Maybe its just the perfect size or weight. Perhaps its part of our daily rituals like lunch-time prep or cutting chaw. Do you tote it around just like grand-dad did? Has the knife simply broken in the right way like a comfy pair of shoes or an old baseball glove? Maybe the tools are just so darn useful that you feel naked without it. They may not be our Sebenzas, Hinderers, or Striders but these are the knives thatre never too far away for too long
Mine used to be an old Swiss Army 'Recruit.' I lost it and bought a Driver (same deal only with the crappy textured plastic scales :thumbdn
but it just wasnt the same. Thats why Im in this whole knife-buying mess now
