Recommendation? Pocket slip, or let it scuff?

I carry in my watch pocket most of the time and I only use a slip if the knife can't fit my watch pocket, so it doesn't scratch up my phone. I don't mind scratches on knives I carry and use.

Variation of a pocket slip. I call it a Folding Knife Pouch but its often called a Buckaroo Pouch.

Goes on your belt loop like this. No belt needed.

Drop it in your pocket.

Need your knife, just pull on the string and the pouch comes out of your pocket. Just let it hang while using your knife.

All done, drop the knife back in your pouch and drop it back in your pocket.

I'm not usually big on pocket knife pouches, but those are so classy they get a pass! Beautifully done.

Let ‘Er get some character!

:D p'rhaps I shoulda posted elsewhere.....!

Understand what you mean, am sure it'll develop a nice patina, but maybe less so and a while longer than some ;)

Never thought I'd care to carry in a slip but I'm a fan. No bouncing around or awkward positioning in your pocket. Hardly anymore added footprint either. Michael from Hitch + Timber makes a great product as well!

No slips here. I came from pocket clipped knives that were quick and easy to access (but boring and too big) to smaller traditionals so I like them lose and quicker to retrieve and have open. For my nicer knives I let them ride alone in my front pocket that otherwise will have my phone in it whenever Im on the move OR in my watch pocket. Heavier users that Im not worried about ride wherever they get stuck without care.

I carry them in a pouch.
But the primary reason is to keep things organized, because otherwise all the items bunch up at the bottom of my pocket.
(And to protect the cell phone which is in the same pocket.)

I like to keep a bandana or handkerchief in my front pocket with my knife. It keeps the knife and whatever else I have in there from shifting around. I do not mind scuffs and wear on the knife, usually. If I have a knife I want to protect a little more, I put it in the bandana.

Pocket slip, but has little to do with scuffs or wear. I believe there is less chance of it falling out of my pocket without me noticing.
This is my experience. I'd had a few slip out of my pocket never to be found again before I used a slip. Since I started I've not lost one. Knock on wood.
I also get the added benefit of keeping my custom knives looking nice longer.

I tried carrying my Buck 55 in a nice leather slip case. One day the knife looked me square in the eye and said, "Let me be a pocketknife, will ya!? Enough with this baby routine! I wanna rock around with keys and coins and cut stuff that needs cuttin!" Since then I just drop in pocket and go. True story.

I drop my knife in my rf pocket along with keys and coins. I get rid of nickels dimes ASAP so they don't get in the blade well and damage the tip of the blade. Dollar and two dollar coins aren't a bother.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the Tony Bose legal document regarding slips/knife purses wherein he refers to their use as 'the activity'.
Sorry I can't find it to post here, maybe someone else could, it sure is funny.

Nice Classic

Not ordinarily for me, but I have one knife I carry in a pouch.
