I'm looking for a decent knock off of the sebenza. Not a literal knock off but a titanium handle frame lock and good blade steel for an "affordable"(<$200) price. I've heard of the BM750 but haven't seen one and the CRKT S2 but have heard of the ats34 being soft. The Tyrade seems like an option but you definately lose the pretty factor if that is an issue. Anything else?

+1 on the Bradley Alias. Or even a Benchmade 635 Mini-Skirmish. Also you can find some big ones like a ZT 300 on the secondary market for under $200. They are huge but lock up like a bank vault and are tanks. Benchmade makes a large Skirmish as well Model # 630.

lol I somehow forgot about the alias...is it legal for me to +1 alias on my own thread?

I would say just save your duckets and get a real Sebenza. Nothing else really compares, and when you think of all of the knives you might have to go through to find the "right one", you'll save money in the long run.

I’ve been looking at them for some time and I’ve come to the conclusion that a poor mans Sebenza is a used Sebenza.

I have now owned and handled A Bradley Alias I, A large Classic Sebenza 21, a small classic Sebenza and a Buck Mayo TNT. The clear winner to me, at least in terms of the best knife, is the large Sebenza. That being said, I no longer own the Sebenzas or the Alias. I originally owned a Buck Mayo TNT, but i gave it to a good friend of mine. Then i went through the other blades. They were all great knives. Not a single negative word to say about them. I would have kept the Large Sebenza, but i cannot describe how much i missed the feel of my TNT. It just feels right in my hand. It is extremely light and comfortable to use and carry. It is a bit bigger than the Small Sebenza, which works for me, as the small is a tad small for my taste(which is a fairly arbitrary, aesthetically based thing). I just really needed to have it again. So back went the Sebenza 21 and now i have my beloved TNT again. My future penultimate purchase will be a custom Mayo. I don't know if this helped any, but i say go with a Buck Mayo TNT. It's a little bit like an ultralight Med. Sebenza.

I have seen a ton of user Sebbies for well under $300... More like $250 if you keep your eyes open. Why not just get the real deal?

Nothing is more like as Sebenza, than a real life Sebenza.

With all due respect to CRK's products, not many of us have bought a great knife and said 'this is the one, I think I'll stop buying knives from now on'.....Go with the knife that is right for your budget. Enjoy it and when you are ready to move on, go for the next one!

Considering the current fiscal state of affairs...

I have several poor man's Sebenzas. They are simply Sebenzas I bought before I was poor.

TOPS CQT Thunder Hawke- Hunter. Very fine fit and finish ,excellent materials [titanium, G10, N690Co blade] .If you look around you can get some nice prices.

Absolutely.
I USED to say "this is the last knife I need", but, 12 knives later(not 12 knives in total, just 12 since the last time I meant that), I've stopped saying that.
