Portable Bandsaw Mounting Pictures Needed

Very nice, looks like you can do good work on that. I don't see where the problem of throat depth arises, unless you're cutting short swords from bar stock...

I've only cut a couple dozen blanks so far so take what I say with a grain of salt. A deeper throat would be nice because I could get more blanks out of a single bar of steel. I'd be able to stagger the way I lay out my patterns and possibly get an extra mid sized blade out of a three foot length. All in all though, this set-up should serve me well for the small to mid-size blades that I plan to make.

Here is a picture of mine I used a Makita variable speed and some old unistrut it mounts on my work bench.

Also Take a look at post http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=721482 he attached it to a tooling arm and uses his grinder to hold it when he needs to use it. I think this would be a great space saver.

I've got Troy's fixed table , no complaints at all but I sure do like the modular set up .

Thats the one I have Nick, it's great, very solid and more than over engineered. I would have thought you built it. Oh and Im thinkin Its made of 1/4" stainless of some sort, It was forgotten in the back of my truck for a while and the only place it even tried to rust was on the welds on the bottom. It's kinda heavy to and the base that screws on to the saw is aluminum.

Hay,

If anyone use's the HF Porta Saw and has a work table, I would be interested.
Call it a feed table or work table two screws and its attached, or is someone can make
a stand with attached would be great.
Let me know....Thanks

DAMN IT! I was saving up for a band saw but now, Im gonna have to give this a shot. Good ideas, all of them.
I have been using it in the vise also with a cable tie to hold the trigger on. I think I will have to make something like that for mine also, but it will have to be quickly dismountable as I mainly use it for a cutoff tool on my lathe. Much faster and thinner cut than lathe cutoff tool.

Guys, how are these little saws compared to say the hf 4x6? i want to gert one so i dont have to change blades so often :-) also, where do you find good lennox blades for these little guys?

DON'T GET THE HARBOR FREIGHT SAW!!! I made that mistake when I first got one as well. It's a piece of crap and extremely loud. Its so loud I had to wear hearing protection. For only about $20.00 more you can get a used one on Ebay. I got a Milwaulkee 6230N for just over $100.00 and its worlds apart better than the HF junk.

My HF portaband works great. I've cut a ton of shit with it. It IS loud but it works. You just have to buy Milwaulkee blades and you're good to go.

I've been trying to find the pics of Nicks build on the portable band saw stand. Can anyone tell me how or where to find them? It looks like a great build, and I just bought a Dewalt saw to build it around. Thanks for any help!
