Possible Problem with a Trade

I lost one item (Lanyard, not a knife) due to poor packaging and immediately replaced it. From then on I always reinforce my packaging.

Flat rate envelopes are normally pretty secure. I wonder what happened?

Either way it's his responsibility until it gets in your hands. Ship it insured.

Just so we are all clear flat rate envelopes are intended for paper products.

FYI, In my experience flat rate envelopes and envelopes in general were never intended to hold small bulky items..

Personally, I have never used a flat rate envelope to ship knives.. Have I used padded envelopes to ship knives?. Sure, while trying to cheap out on shipping an inexpensive knife here and there in my distant past. However, after addressing the padded envelope I would reinforce it with clear tape from one end to the other completely to prevent a knife from working itself out of the parcel either on its own or with a little help from an oppertunistic thief.. Apparently my diligence and good fortune has worked in my favor and I never lost an outbound shipment.. I stopped that practice quite a while ago and I do not use padded envelopes.

Shipping boxes/cartons are just a few pennies more expensive than padded envelopes at the market if I plan to use 1st Class and they are free at the USPS if I am to ship via Priority.. Frankly, I would hope any self respecting knife-knut would put his/her best foot forward and ship they're outbound parcels using the box method. Therefore I am lead to conclude that leatherman123 couldn't care less.

I will not be doing any business with Leatherman123.

I checked eBay for his User ID there, but all I could get was:
The email address nikkogi[at]aol[dot]com is used by a valid eBay member. However, we have not found a recent transaction between you and this member. For privacy purposes, eBay doesn't reveal User IDs to members who are not involved in recent transactions with each other.

But he is claiming it was an eBay deal right; that's part of his spurious rationale for not doing a refund? If so, let me say/write again, perhaps eBay would be interested in knowing about this deal. You do have email from him making some such claim do you not?

Either way, he's hurting his reputation around here by his stance.

all da best,
rats...

On the MT.O thread, which they locked for some reason, one of the forum members there, Gadget Guy, read the thread and offered to send me a replacement Surge, but he didn't just send the Surge, he sent a whole box of gear! We know that on the forums, the good guys far outnumber the bad, and every once in a while, someone reminds us that there are some really great guys out there too. Big thanks to Gadget Guy!

There is a gadget guy that is a member of Bladeforums. I don't know if it's the same guy. Anyway, god on ya, Gadget Guy.
