Knifemakers beware of an email from David Bolton..... davidbolton at hotmail dot com
He is says he is a part time writer requesting a knife for review to be written up in a South American publication, MercoPalbra editors
It may be legit, but I'm spectical. I responded with alot of question and have yet to hear back.
Just a heads up.
Scott

He can get a knife to review. Just send the funds.

Hey you never know. Those magazines have to constantly find new talent for their pretty pictures & articles.

:)

Yes, but how hard would it be to create a new account on there and defend yourself? Worth the 5 minutes work to get a few more scammed knives from makers? I would think so. Wait until you see actual reviews in a magazine of a maker's knife that you know, then consider him legit. Until then, it's not hard to build a fake web page, magazine, account on KD, or other appearances.

He gave Curt and Mark at Spartan Knives as a reference. Next time I talk with them I'll find out the Truth

The guy sounds like a dink from what I read on the other thread. I wouldn't deal with him

I am David Bolton, I am NOT a dink. THANK YOU. The magazine is Spanish, as in Spain, Western Europe. I am open to ALL questions. I normally reply, very late in the am, so my grammer may be less then steller.

Anyone who wish to be reviewed, in a fair and honest manner please contact me.

Curt and Mark are great guys, we have a former Green Beret Friend in common.

David,

What is the monthly circulation volume for your magazine?

Does it have a website?

Thanks

Wloch248,

The monthly circulation volume, I would have to check. I know the magazine is sold out every month, here in Spain and in Latin America.

Please see link: http://www.mercopalabra.com/

On the right side of the web-page you will see the words "Prensa periódica," and five covers of the different magazine they publish. Click on the bottom cover for "Armas Blancas." This is the new magazine that the group is putting out; the cover shown is the first issue.

I also write an occasional review for "Soldiers raids, magazine," Spain's version of Guns and Ammo meet S.O.F. the magazine itself, does not have a web-site.

Here is the link for the store that owns the magazine, I write for. http://www.soldiers.es/

I hope this helps.

Your English is all over the place. I can't imagine what your Spanish is like. I bet the editors at the mag love you. :)

David Bolton sounds like the kind of name a native English speaker might have, so I imagine Jayihnk is assuming that if your first language is spotty, your secondary languages might also be suffering.

But that's all assumption. Did you grow up speaking Dutch?

You would impress more knifemakers of the validity of your requests if you provided your credentials before being asked, instead of arguing with people.

When Is this "NEW" Magazine supposed to come out?
This is the same thing I was told In an email I got from MR. Bolton some time ago. LOL

And yes I am Ernie Swanson from the Knifedogs link above!

Hello Mr. Swanson, I hope the knife making is going well. I am sure with the amount of free time you have now, on your hands, the knives will be rolling out.

Yes, you were told the samething, it was copied from the e-mail I use.

As for the magazine, it is out and on it´s 4th edition; it is a bimonthly magazine.

David, thanks for posting and clearing this up. Like I told you in the response I sent you, I've been scammed before so I'm leary of these types of emails. Hope no offense was taken. Just being careful.
Scott

Mr. Benyamin,

Shalom. I don´t look to impress anyone. All my ´´References available upon request. ´´ I am not shy about giving them.

I don´t look to argue, I would like to work with most people people. BUT, if talk smack, smack will be talked back. RESPECT, is a two way street, I´ll give freely and would like the same in return.

I have been following the forums, for years now. I am just surprised, at how many of the forum members, are the way they are, once you join. From the outsidde ALMOST every one seemed, like a decent and interesting person.

I am looking for some specialty kydex work, can you recommend anyone.
