I was driving to work today with the normal random thoughts wandering through my head ...

As is probably the case with most Busse freaks and knife people in general, a lot of people find our 'hobby' odd or at least don't understand it to some degree. I came up with a hypothesis that as Busse collectors and/or users, the majority of us probably have other hobbies that are equally misunderstood by others.

Post your other obscure hobby here! We wanna know... (And I mean, odd). Hunting, shooting, fishing, 4 wheeling, mountain biking and other random 'guy' (and sometimes gal) stuff don't count. Neither do any of the 'standard' hobbies like coin or stamp collecting or woodworking for example.

Here's one of mine that NOBODY understands: I collect memorabilia (posters, T-shirts, promo ads, lp's, anything) of Mexican Rock band Mana. My girlfriend (and most others) think I'm nuts. Funny thing is I was a Metallica concert once and got thumbs up from several people when they noticed my Mana T-shirt :D Even surprised me...

Let's hear 'em! I know that by nature you knife freaks have 'em!!!

All knife buffs (not just Busse) are encouraged to respond!

I pace in my room. It's not really a hobby, it just gives me something to do between F5'ing over at the exchange.:o

Everyone in the barracks thinks I'm crazy, but they just don't understand.:D

Aircooled 71'- Volkswagons. Including some of the old Porche's like the old 356. I'm also into tattooing and the various styles. Traditional tribal of the south pacific, and celtic being my favorites. I also collect foreign movies. There was a badass one made in Korea called: "Emperor of the Sea". I'd recommend it ;)

I like to buy things and then never use them. haha...no wait that isn't funny :(

I like to surf the web and just read. It might be an article about plumbing, or maybe the difference between radar and laser detectors for your car. Just anything that catches my eye. It's my only source of self education since I am not in school anymore.

I kayak too :D that's probably not weird though. I can hold my breath for a long time, and sometimes after a surf session (this is during the summer) I go under for about a minute and grab people's feet that are swimming at the beach. It's funny when they freak out! I've been doing that since I was a kid. I'll never outgrow that one! I saw a grown man hightail it all the way to the shore one time! It's kind of a hobby.........

Hmmm, guess my weirdest would be a mild curiousity... "Don't you mean obsession?"-Ms.Carla... with Japanese/Samurai culture and history. Don't know why or how it started exactly but, it has snowballed. Managed to build a HUGE library of books on the subject. My theme song, according to my friends, is "Turning Japanese" :o

I collect my dead skin in a little skin box and eat it as a delicacy.

Ok, not really. I don't think I have any wierd hobbies. :D

I'm actively trying to learn the art of electrolosis without having to take the california electrolosist school certification program (16 weeks at 40 hours per week + 8,000$ tuition fee) (wich means I can't technically practice within state lines). I've got a really nice digital Silhouet-Tone: Blend ST 250, I just need a bit more know how before i start burning holes into the flesh with it.

trying to learn afrikaans (the language)...

and some random stuff that wouldn't pass the censors here :) (probably a good thing)

I'm an artist. Okay, so it's not a hobby (I went to school for as long as a doctor or a lawyer to become one, and have the 2 masters degrees to prove it) but most people think art is a hobby, and it's weird.

My wife (also an artist) and I get into fights over things that most people would consider odd. Our worst fights ever have been over color. Just yesterday we got in a big argument (over an hour long) over whether a color she was using was "orange" or "gold" (it was orange, by the way). Normal people don't do that.

I used to be into frog gigging (back when there were still such things as frogs) and spearfishing. Is that odd enough? When I was a kid, my main hobby (besides drawing) was building elaborate forts in the woods with my buddies. Every once in a while we would have "BB Gun wars" (like paint ball, but with BB guns) smart, huh? And carving little wooden boats, which we would race in the creek.

We also used to play a game called "assassin", where a big group of guys would all put their names in a hat, and each pick out the name of the other guy you were supposed to "whack" with one of those dime-store rubber dart guns. You had to "whack" your target before you got whacked yourself- it had to be on school grounds or it didn't count. The last man standing won- there was a kitty that you had to ante up a buck in before you could play. Can you imagine kids playing this game in school now? Just writing somebody else's name on a piece of paper is enough to get a kid arrested and expelled nowadays.

I enjoy tazering people... or using the shock shield. But my favorite hobby is throwing a sting grenade into a room and watching ppl scatter. :D Yes I'm a evil Bastard :D
