Post Odd Hobbies Here

Guyon that is very cool!!!

I grew up on stripers (bass) here, when there are big they are an awesome fish. Hell that sounds like BIG FUN!

King Salmon off of Stinson Beach could be a blast too but no fly rods as you need to be down about 35-65 feet.

So how would you land say a 40lb King? Is there room for it? I can just see myslef not wanting to stick my arm in the water to gill it. It could get a bit weird out there if you have an imagination. I have seen the end result of sharks taking most of a Salmon off my line… the resident shark in that area is a Great White.

And while you bring up strippers.... Jaxx is that ceiling high enough for a stripper poll? You could have poll dancing classes for underprivileged girls. And maybe for the "cause" VTW would do a nice ceiling for you and some mirrors. But if you did that you'd need a short airstrip for Skunk to visit too.;)

Jaxx, that is a great looking remodel, top to bottom.

One question: Why did you cover up the strippers' pole with rope? Don't the strippers get a little chafed?

I drove Sprint cars for a few years.....800 HP in a 1300 # ,86" wheelbase car,direct drive,no clutch,transmission or starter.

Hit maintainer tires ,concrete walls, steel fences, trees, other cars, lost wheels, blew motors and flipped several times a year.....maybe why I am whacky:D

Well, I've never hooked into a striper in the yak. At least not yet. The guys down on Lanier near Atlanta have made a science out of it, however, and they post pics of 10 to 30 pound fish all the time. The regulars call it "going on the sleigh ride" because the fish pulls you all around the lake until you wear it out.

Kings would be very possible. I know (from reading other people's posts) that, during the hot summer months, the striped bass on Lanier tend to settle near the thermocline about 30 to 60 feet down. Guys will paddle around and try to locate fish on the radar. Then, they'll use a line counter and drop a live bait (blueback herring is the bait of choice there) down to the proper level. After that, they just slow troll till something bends the rod double. Seems like you could do something similar with king salmon.

Landing? Lots of folks use the Boga Grip (expensive) or the Berkely Lip Grip (less expensive) to help land a fish once they've worn it down a bit.

People on the coast catch some insanely large fish out of a kayak. I'm talking fish in the hundreds of pounds. A few folks have landed marlins, and some idiots fish for sharks out of kayaks. I read one article (though I've since lost it) about a guy who hooked up on a great white that was longer than the kayak itself. Luckily for the guy, it broke off after dragging him around for an hour or more. He was trying to land the fish, though he did have some back up in a mother boat that was following along.

Check out some of these kayak "records": http://www.kayakfishing.com/records.html

I use to post to the Blade Forums Political Forum. But now I help with educationally handicapped instead, their learning curve is much steeper.

On that house I think he should take a wall of that main room and make a mosaic with Busse Knife inlay...

yeah, its not like he has any shortage. he could put up 10 of each and still have extras for trade/sell/use.

I think Tony G is right. If you going to have a stripper pole (even if it is covered in rope), you need more mirrors. Maybe a disco ball hanging from the ceiling...

I fly aeroplanes, collect syrian furniture and practice Ving Tsun Kung~Fu. I also play and write music. Nothing too wierd I suppose. My Harley is fun too.

I wish the one fellow had gone in the drink. He was doing a pretty crappy job and deserved to get wet.

You could always borrow Skunk's .50 and reach out and touch someone from shore. :D
