Wasn't sure if you were being sarcastic. I'm over it (GEC deleting shields), but yeah I tend to agree. To my eye I like & prefer the shielded stag GEC.

I supposed that means I'm not. I haven't bought a stag covered GEC since they started building knives without them. I guess I'm voting with my wallet, though it doesn't look like it's hurt GEC any.

I personally think that there should not be a Shield on good Stag.

I’m not over it. Also, if they won’t do shields in stag, I wish they’d do more stag barlows since they don’t call for shields anyway. That’s just me though.

I think it depends on the knife Duncan. What I don't like is GEC swearing off shields on stag covers entirely.

About the only GEC I collect are the 2 blade 61/62 pattern knives. Finally landed a 62 courthouse whittler in coconut palm, but still holding out that I'll find one in the spring green bone eventually.
