pretty soon kids won't get "Be kind, rewind"
One pound beeswax
8 fl. oz. turpentine
8 fl. oz. boiled linseed oil
Pine tar (about a two tablespoons)
Melt the beeswax add everything else and stir well.
Let it cool to form a paste.
There you go. The best waterproofer/preservative/finish for cloth, leather, and wood you'll ever find. Rub it on then use a hairdryer to work it in.
Just finished retreating my gear.
You're welcome.

I'm going to go get the stuff to do this.
I'm guessing I could get the pine tar at Academy Sports in the baseball section.
Will four of these work for the bees wax? http://www.walmart.com/ip/10451913?...1=g&wl2=&wl3=21486607510&wl4=&wl5=pla&veh=sem
If you have leftover paste, can you save it for future projects and just heat it up later on?
"pre-internet you little bastids! Back when we played baseball NOT on the wii, and back when going bowling meant GOING bowling!"
We had to keep score cards at the bowling alley.
Oh yeah, I see the "with 100% beeswax" now. Thanks Psy.
Going to have to track down beeswax. Can I use ear wax?
ETA: Okay, Michael's (craft place) sells candle making supplies. I'm set.
Michael's is where I get it. Print a 40-50 off coupon before you go. I get the pine tar at a local farm co-op in bulk for equine use. I can send you some (if you like) because I've got enough for nine lifetimes. When I make a batch I put it in Mason jars while it's warm and a little bit in a shoe polish tin for the pack. Oh and by the way, be sure to make it outside and hang your coat/shoes/whatever on the porch for a few days. The last batch I made I put some orange oil in and it really smells pleasant. Kay even likes it.
