Preparing for Ike...

I'm relieved to hear that you guys are doing ok. Are there any other members from Texas that we haven't heard from yet?

Doc

Of course, texastony, where are you?

Up here in E Tex it was little more than a bad thunderstorm.

I got kinda creeped out though last night. Hours before the storm was supposed to hit(4 am), Me and my fiancee were eating at Whataburger and the power went out all down the street and it also went out in parts of my neighborhood(but not my house). I was drunk and peeing when it went out so I was kinda freaked lol. The girls behind the counter got good use out of my Fenix p2d.

Lots of trees down and 30-45,000 folks in the N.E Tex area lost power, according to the news.

Glad to hear everyone is ok!

I think I'm a little late chimming in, but down here in the Corpus/Kingsville area we didn't get a drop of rain, and 40-50 mile per hour winds are normal here for us along the gulf :). I would have gone fishing, but me and the fiance went and made a family trip to Laredo to visit some of her family. I wanted to stay (as of wednesday night/thursday when it looked like it was coming to us), but we agreed to go anyways to say a few "hellos."

I'm glad you guys near Houston made it out okay. I heard that Galveston had quite a few places flood. I also saw one of my favorite piers there nearly underwater too :grumpy:.

This would seem like a good time for some primitive skills now wouldn't it shotgunner11 :D. You should pull out a can and make an alchohol burner to cook a few meals and tell us how it goes. Those blackberry's come in handy too . I just got the blackberry pearl last saturday and it's my most high-tech gizmo that I've ever owned. It helps keep me off my laptop, so the fiance doesn't complain as much anymore :D.

Well, good luck with everything up there, god bless, J.

Didn't even get a drop in Killeen:grumpy: We do have several family members of our Soldiers in LA and the Houston area that we need to get status on...but from all reports no issues:thumbup:

I'm alive guys. It was really bad but were all ok. A lot of wind damage and their saying no power for a month. Guess I get to work on my primitive living skills.

I won't be around much for the next few weeks except to give progress reports from my blackberry.

Thanks for the well wishes and prayers guys, I guess they worked.

Oh and no Tony, even after this, I still don't want to go back to jersey.

 Glad to hear you Ok....

Glad your OK BRO:thumbup: Sucks about the power bro. I will try to come up with sme good wize cracks while your offline, but it won't be the same; as yours are usually better:D

I don't blame you on not wanting to go back to Jersey. The only good thing other than low gas prices and no sales tax in that state is navigation. If you can navigate in Jersey you can navigate anywhere:D

I'm still hanging in there guys. Still no power. Been spending a lot of time clearing streets in my area. I gotta say, after seeing the damage around here, I feel very blessed. My family could have had it much worse.
