Price increases blown out of proportion?

Hi Stays Sharp. We don't and hve never worked for the dealer and distributors. WE try to service them, but we recognize that they are a conduit to the
End Line User. If we just worked for our dealers, we have about 25% of the models we make. Perhaps you need to open your mind a bit?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The entire "business chain" from; raw materials, invention, design, manufacturing, marketing, selling, distributing, shipping, warrantees, insurance, credit, etc. ALL EXISTS to service the ELU (End Line User). Remove the ELU from the equation and the entire business chain falls like a house of cards. We all work for you!

Prices are being fixed.

Letter of the law, fine it’s used to mean a totally different thing.

Plain english, prices are being fixed. Controlled. Using MAP which also means something totally different. Funny.

I'll agree with that.

Sal, you have earned my trust a long time ago. The more of my purchase price directly goes to you and your employees the better. Wish you the best, no easy solution as to who in the business chain can bare more.

Sorry you feel that way Floatingby. As we've discussed before, only Chinese manufacture will give us an opportunity to lower prices because the Chinese unfairly devalue their Yuan. Try to purchase a coffee pot, blender or washing machine made in the US or Canada for that matter. A 6/1 Yuan is a 3rd world country dollar value....for a country that puts people in space and builds island in the sea?

I guess "fair" is an American word.

When everything is made in China (almost there now) many will be ....?

I purchase nothing from communist, totalitarian countries unless there is no other alternative on earth and I can't do without.
With that said, plenty of knives company can and do make their products, great products, in north america while undercutting current Spyderco pricing, they seem to do well, no need to go to China at all.

So just trolling then.
You an idiot or what? You ask me what knife other than Spyderco I would recomend on the Spyderco board, and when I don’t bite to your fishing you accuse me of trolling? I’m done with you, idiot.

I have another Spyderco on the way. :)
Guess the price increases didn't stop me from spending money. ;)

I mean, knives like the Delica, a knife I used to recommend all day long, now passes the 100 dollars mark in Canada; we are talking about a mass produced, sub 3" VG10 bladed lockback with a plastic handle that is made overseas...

Made overseas in a country with one of the highest costs of living on the planet.

I have a bunch on the list. The Respect, the Lum Tanto coming out BHQ any day, the Stretch in VTOKU, and still the One Eye Jack, the serrated ARK, and a hawk, and bunch of others no doubt.

Hi Alsharif,

Welcome to our forum.

Sorry you feel that way. I guess that it shows we cannot please everyone.

I appreciate the brand, but I won't be buying another for a while.
It's your money. Buy what makes you happy and gives you the best value for your money. If a small price increase makes you look elsewhere, it's ultimately your decision.

There are brands of knives I refuse to buy for various reasons including cost, but I don't post in their paid forums vaguely stating reasons why I won't be buying their knives. Why would I even bother?

Which Lum tanto version, pls?

I like both the fixed and folding Lums.

(And of course the Respect bowie).

I just got a One Eye Jack (on Valentine's Day, How sweet of me!) and I am really digging it.

It is just incredibly solid feeling and well built. The filework on the backspacer is awesome. I wish I had bought it before the price increase, but sometimes my timing on stuff like this is just lousy. I had a chance to handle one at the Factory Outlet and that encouraged me to get one sooner rather than later. If I get a chance at one on "closeout" in the future I will certainly get a backup.

And the Lum Tanto, Mantra 3, Respect bowie...I could go on and on. Lots of Spydercos on my list this year!

Here is is.

I may have to sell my 4th kidney to make my list. So be it!
Thx

I like the folding Lum tanto (but never got got the jade thing. I must be the only one, as they seem very popular).
