problem contacting seller "Otto"

I'd hate to speak out of place and it's not me who's out money but- 3 years ago I had an issue with Otto and I was an ass about it only to find out he was in the hospital. That's why there's No Negative Feedback on the issue. He made good when he was able by delivering the knife.


If he owes you something contact him, clarify the situation and work out an equitable resolution. He needs to respond individually to the people he owes. Name calling and innuendo isn't going to get you your knives or money. You need his help to do that.

Have some compassion and give him a chance.
 
yes, we know he was in the hospital back in may, this is june. there should be no reason he couldnt have kept some sort of contact with us especially having had this same problem with a knife deal before. one main issue i am having with this is that he claims that his funds are low. i know the money i gave him for the knife wasnt much but in my opinion you shouldnt spend the money you receive on a deal until the deal is closed. that should be a common rule in these types of dealings. he still is refusing to deal with us personally, opting to post in this thread. there are many personal emails and pms that i have sent him that to this day are unanswered. compassion is one thing. standing idly by while i am taken advantage of is something entirely different and i refuse to do it. i have been pretty understanding since april, the time for patience is over at this point. the first time he got out of the hospital and said he would fix everything should have been the end of discussion, but he failed to follow through on those promises. i dont know if he went back into the hospital or if he has been sitting at home this whole time just waiting to get up enough gumption to face the music, but he better not disappear again.
 
100% agree with danroot, if there were communication with him, maybe the talking will be different, but at this point, only one of three has a knife, we still are empty handed, also he said last time, that the knifes were on the mail, for me is a very big coincidence that two knifes were lost, so time to tell the truth and to put a due date for the reimbursement, braillediver also a big coincidence that the same thing happen to you some time ago, if he is not capable of doing trades on internet timely, then he just shouldn't do this

Gotta jump in and agree with vita and dan...If he had my money for that long and I had no knife in return, I would not be happy and would have definately escalated it to anyone that I could. If he had time to post the knives on multiple web sites he should have plenty of time to either track them down or issue full refunds. Hell, full refunds with interest at this point. Hope all works out for you two.
 
Where is a pic of all 3 of the knives for sale? Let's start there. Prove to me that you even had them to start with.

Otto is claiming that 2 people have gotten their knives, one forum member here - ME, and on another forum (JD) to Tmbrcrafter- who is also ME.
So at this point, I'd have to say that some folks are owed some money. I also would like to believe the best in people, but you folks are being stroked.

Otto- quit screwing off and come clean. If you don't have the money just say so.
 
Well I thing we need to wait another month for his answer, looks like his schedules are limited to one reply per month
Jujitame, I haven't heard anything from the postal service, maybe because Otto said that he change his address, this was the first excuse, then the hospital, then he said that the knifes were on the way, now I'm waiting for the next one, maybe this time he is working undercover, and for that reason he only can post once a month

Now what do they do? If BladeForums Bans him they'll never hear from him. Pull his Paid Membership? He's not communicating so ease of communication isn't a concern.

Sucks- flush him but that doesn't get your money back.
 
i dont know what his problem is. if he was ripping us off why does he keep coming back. why cant he just provide what we ask for. its a very simple request.
 
Otto if you still have knives and no money- offer a different knife to compensate the Buyers for this debacle? It’s not ideal but it could put this behind you. Ideally it would be worth enough that they could resell it to recoup the debt they are owed. You owe them.

As it is you’ll never sell here again unless this is resolved in a generous heartfelt way.

Just talk to the people you owe.

I’ll pay the Postage Myself if that is an impediment to sending another knife in replacement.
 
Hey Otto, your profile says you were online here yesterday afternoon. You were on JD last week per the info there. Any news to report or action being taken?
 
approaching august now. still nothing. when will he be banned? also, he continues to log on periodically, what the [Vulgarity Removed] are you doing otto!?!

Otto just skinned us, plain and simple, Still waiting for him, but for sure he is not going to answer, moderator can you ban him?
 
Keep the language civil, vulgarity will not be tolerated in any circumstances. Another thing, if he gets banned, you can kiss your chances for getting anything back goodbye.

so my ridiculous "restricted access" time is over, has he responded to you? if you read this thread, you would have known that we have all called and emailed and pm'ed him multiple times, with no responses back. if there is a problem with a member in YOUR forum such as this, members stealing from other members, than i would have hoped you would have intervened sooner than four months in. i have pretty much given up on ever seeing my knife/money. the only reason i ever come to this forum now is to make sure otto hasnt stolen from anyone else. if he ever shows his skin around here, it better be to fix this situation and to say goodbye to this forum for awhile, i cannot see how his behavior has been allowed to continue this long. even if he makes good on this deal he should have a seriously long period of "restricted... :rolleyes: .....access" to sort his SHI..oh yes, forgive me, this knife forum is family friendly....
 
i would like to add that this thread started off completely civil, it has since taken a turn towards absurdity. all that microcephalic had to do was admit he dropped the ball and issue refunds. if hes too senile to remember where the confirmation number from ups/usps is or where he sent the knives off to, or how to simply ANSWER AN EMAIL, it isnt our problem and we shouldnt be reprimanded for loosing our cool. just saying....
