I am not being defensive dear Moderator, I am just stating facts based on my own experience from the transaction, I did not say that he is purposely scamming me, did I? I may be new to BF but not into trading/selling/buying stuffs. I've been a member in good standing at XDA Developers and have 64 solid positive feedbacks from selling/buying/trading high end cellular phones and tablets, too bad the Market Place was shut down because of increasing scamming schemes. Here is a link for everyone who wants to check http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=3526192 . I am also a registered member/user at Cell Trader Online and I am pretty sure the people there can and will vouch for me as most of them also are from XDA Developers. Moderators do not take sides, they "Moderate" and try to fix whatever the problem is/are.

If you want help, you will need to reevaluate your attitude. Kiah stated nothing out of line with his post. He simply shared an opinion, which is what you get when you post a thread such as these. We will gladly try and help you, but leave the cynicism elsewhere.

I don't see where the cynicism is Sir/Mam, I am also just stating my opinion, and please elaborate with what you meant by "reevaluate my attitude"? Thanks.

Was the box taped? It doesn't look like it. This little boxes are notorious for popping open without tape. Maybe someone took the knife before delivery.

Your hyperdefensive attitude is not needed, nor are your snarky replies. Consider this your one and only warning.

No it was not taped, that is why I am asking Fishiker to post a picture of the Official Receipt so we would know how much it weighed before shipping, if it weighed more than 2.8 oz as I weighed it, then somebody took the knife before delivery.

I don't mean to be sarcastic or disrespectful in any way to anyone, I am just trying to answer and give my opinion as honestly as I can, I do apologize if I have offended you or any other members with my remarks. Again, my apologies to everyone.

Flat rate boxes are usually not weighed.

I use those small flat rate boxes all the time, if the sides are not taped closed they can be opened and there's no evidence they were tampered with.
It's unfortunate , but it was probably removed while in transit.
You should speak to the post office, maybe you can file a claim.

Yep, those boxes suck and have to have tape. They open up all the time. I always run tape around the outside of the small flat rate boxes. I would file a claim with USPS

I also use flat rate boxes/envelop when shipping and they are weighed where I drop them off for shipping, and they are printed on the receipt. Unfortunately I can not file a claim for an item lost going towards me, only the shipper can file a claim. I usually place the item inside a small flat rate box and then place them inside a flat rate padded envelope for added protection. But now a days there has been a shortage of small flat rate boxes and padded envelope at my regular Post Office that I have to improvise.

I just shipped two flat rate boxes a few minutes ago and indeed there is a weight displayed for both packages. Each box had a seperate weight. So I guess I would just post up the receipt and end this whole thread right now.

Good procedure, got to do it. I stuff the box with rolled up newspaper or plastic bags, and the actual item gets a couple of plastic bags around it to keep out any moisture. Once I've packed it and before I tape all around, I shake it up down and sideways and if I can feel anything move inside, I add more stuffing.

No it does not, only labels were of the amount of postage paid and delivery confirmation sticker, if we use Paypal labels the weight would appear there, but the Official Receipt of the transaction from the Post Office would show the original weight of the box when submitted for mailing, that is why I am challenging Fishiker to post the picture of the Official Receipt so we would know the weight of the package when it was submitted for mailing.

USPS advertises "Flat Rate Priority Mail" - anything you can get in a box UNDER a certain weight. I just looked at four examples of the Priority Mail 'Small FR Box." None had a weight on the USPS label that I can see. There is a 15 number, one letter code.

USPS packages travel across some huge machinery. If the package got temporarily distorted enough for the knife to slip out, there would be no associating it with the package. It's possible that if that happened, it could be sitting in some sort of "lost and found" somewhere. I'd encourage both parties to check the DC# and see if it lists the sorting centers it went through and see if it can be located. Shot in the dark, but stranger things have happened.

I never ship with the post office never will i would rather pay a little extra and ship with U.P.S. where this can still happen but I've never seen it and i ship all over the world. That's what I've done for a living for over 20 years.
