problems with TheBladeShop ?

THIS IS WHAT YOU NEED TO DO

(7) After the 10 business days are up check your account, if the refunds not in there head up to your bank with all the information you've collected and file a dispute (charge back). you should request a new credit/debit card as well.

This has been going on with them for years. Eddie (or whatever his name is) will get on the forum and tell dissatisfied customers to call him directly and he will personally handle the problem. You will have more luck phoning Graceland and getting Elvis on the line.

I would suggest going right to Step (7).

My story is like so many others, promises...promises...and It's been 45 days now and still no credit issued to my credit card. It has been my experience when dealing with a company that charges you credit card as soon as your order is placed "is not good". I know the cheap prices lure you in but trust me...pay a little more and deal with a trusted company.

Have you initiated a charge back with your credit card company? If not, do so ASAP.

That is the truth! I had placed an order with them in March 2008. I wanted a SOG Seal Pup Elite, (Kydex included) for a great price. My knife showed up 3 days later. I thought, "Awesome!"
Fast forward to late July 09, I ordered a Kershar Chive and a SOG Flash 1, and the nightmare began. My items were on back order and when I tried cancelling I was told the money would be returned within 10-14 days (BS btw). I ended up calling my card company and getting the money charged back. :barf:
I did file a complaint with:
TN Chamber of Commerce & Federal Trade Commission, there are also some other agencies that emailed me about the same thing. Too much to pursue at the time, I wanted to get past the violated feeling.
The Blade Shop = :thumbdn:

unfortunately this is a "me too" post. My order from last August 1st has never shown up and I keep getting the runaround. Avoid TheBladeShop.com like the plague. Hopefully it will not be too late for my credit card company to reverse the charge. I should have known the minute that they charged me for a back ordered item that something was wrong.

I usually order from KnivesPlus.com but they didn't have this particular item. I see that they have it now so I'll be buying from them again since I've had nothing but pleasant experiences from them.

Anyone on this forum live in/around Knoxville? Does TheBladeShop even exist where they claim to exist?

by the scum at The Bladeshop.com

Same scenario, order, charge shows up right away, backorder email, I cancel, no CC refund.

All manner of complaints file as mentioned here, it's still going on folks.

See my post in thread http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/sh...=645696&page=4 for my experience with The Blade Shop. Deal with your credit card company to dispute the charge. Mine gives the vendor 30 days from date of cancellation to credit your account. If the firm does not credit your account, you are relieved from your obligation to pay the charge.

Thank god I found this thread early on. I ordered an orange griptilian (was really excited, my first BM knife) yesterday, and got an email instantly that it was on back order. I surfed the web a bit and discovered that I would almost never see my knife. I called promptly and spoke with someone from customer service, and cancelled the order. Glad I nipped this in the butt now rather than later.

These people are crooks plain and simple. It amazes me that they continue to operate. If I ever decide to become a thief I know that the state of Tennessee will welcome me with open arms.

I was wish that I read this thread before I placed a recent order with the thebladeshop.com. Here is part of the email that I sent off tonight:

After reading some negative reviews about your shop on-line, I am increasingly concerned about your ethics. As I re-read your email, why would changing your processors on December 1, 2009 be a problem in October of 2010? And, why does your accounting department need to do an "investigation"? Look at my account - I cancelled a knife that I was informed by email was backordered, even though your website did not say it was out-of-stock when I ordered it, and you have yet to issue a refund?

Has anyone filed a criminal complaint against thebladeshop.com, et al, with the local district/state's attorney? Given the length of time and the unchanging pattern of fraudulent behavior it might be time to respond with more than CC chargebacks and bad BBB and forum reviews.

I received this email today and this is my reply:

Wow, that's an interesting reply. Please tell me exactly what day my refund was processed? That would be the easiest way to respond. No?, it sounds like you are giving me the same run around that has earned you such rich and passionate reviews with the BBB and on places like the www.bladeforums.com. It also appears that chargebacks and complaints are part of your business model. I think I know what needs to be done next.

David ,

When you change processors, sometimes two gateways have to be used to process the tranaction.

The accounting department has to investigate the transaction to see if it was sucessful or not. Their actions from that point on will differ depending on what they find.

Does anyone have the contact info for the local district/states attorney? If not what county are they located in? Thanks.

I placed an order for 6 Kershaw chills using Amazon. I later found this thread and was extremely worried. I got my knives today Oct 8th 5 days before they were scheduled, this caught me off guard but with so many complaints im not planing on gettin that lucky again. Sorry for every one else's bad time.

Its always someone with only one posting telling everyone of the positive experience they had with The Blade Shop. Why is that always the case? Have a good day Eddie. :barf:

Good point. Would one of the moderators please cross-check IP addresses?

I don't think Blade Shop on Amazon is the same vendor, it is from OH and not TN. And they have a very good rating. I am not sure but I think I bought from them years ago through Amazon.
